Just a thought but have you looked into the ones from other manufacturers? I know NEF makes the smae combo as well as a couple of others and arent to bad on price IIRC. I used to have a Savage Model 24 in .22/.410 o/u thatwas awesome but liveing in the city where my apartment was burglarised several times lost that.

the savage looked like a nice little gun but i checked their website and catalog on line and could find no model 24 listed or any combo type guns for that matter...i m worried that they may have stopped making that model like springfield did the m6. i checked gun broker and only saw some pretty old looking pieces on there

I have one that I wouldn't want to sell but might trade for something equally as interesting.

anything more specific than just interesting?...interesting is pretty personal to each individual..my tastes in my vault run pretty plain jane...mostly military ww/1/2 rifles and police type handguns ive got a kinda fetish for snubby revolvers i do have an unfiredhenry arms survival .22 the kind that u take down and it goes into its own stock

i did find an almost exact copy of the savage 24 made by baikal the russian gunmake imported by eaa..its the izh-94 looks pretty cool though the barrel is 23 in long...a tad long for a camp/backpack/survival /truck take down type gun that i was loooking for ..guns and ammo has an article on it online at gunsandammo.com

Yeah but at least the Savage 24 I know took down REAL easy, was durable and highly accurate so it kind of made up for the hassel of the barrel being a bit long for some packs. The one thing I dont like about a lot of the 'survival' .22/.410s is that they have odd triggers and IMO less than desirable sites. I figure the biggest thing (especialy with a 1-2 shot gun) is accuracy and I just dont figure I at least could hit well with the leaver type trigger.

I used to piss off/embarass my BIL nad his buddies with my Savage 24. I got it when I was about 8 and they were in their early 30s/late 20s and they would go out with their pump 12 guages to shoot skeet. I would go along with my little singel shot .410 and after they fired all the shots in their 12guages and missed I would shoot back up and bust the clays as they fell. I even got fairly decent at holding the second shell in my teeth and reloading after the first shot when shooting primary and hitting the second clay as it fell. For ME, I doubt I could do as well with the scout, though I do also like them and wouldnt mind haveing one. So I figure the 2 would kind of balance out for a camp/survival gun, one a bit awkward to carry, the other a bit awkward to shoot but either beating the hell out of a pointy stick.

trudat on the pointy stick....the search goes on i have some gun shows in my area coming upwithin a month or so so i guess i ll have to prowl the aisles i called all the gun stores in the county and now one had an m6 or a m-24 on the shelves thanks for the story too bad ya lost that gun to some a- hole burglar

yup, what breaks my heart most is it was such a great gun and I know since it has a shotgun to it it was most likely sawed down into a pistol for some trash to figure they were cool rather than even going to someone who would have apreciated it.
