It's 6:45AM in North Florida, one weather app says it's 40°F, the other says 44°F! Heck of an early cold snap. We usually get our first teaser of winter weather in November, then it warms again. This is weird. Seem like our recent hurricanes drew off the last of the summer heat. So much for Global Warming.
Huge mass of cold air broke free of the arctic and is headed South. AS much as people slam Suspicious 0bserver, he covered this a few days back. I start my day by checking the AK Earthquake page, the local wx, the USGS volcano page, S0 and then hit my news aggregator sites - all while drinking my coffee.
It's been a bit chilly here in mid NC as well . Heard it snowed some up there in the hurricane ravaged area of the NC mountains. Them folks are sure having a rough time . Floods , washed out raods and homes ,, no power or water ,, and now winter starts setting in. Our country sure needs some prayers ,, from weather and destruction, to politics,,, we sure need some small miracles spread out upon us. Edit ,, I'm didn't mean to leave out Florida,, you all have taken 2 hurricanes back to back ,, but for some reason,, I never heard much about the last one , Milton ,, did it do more damage than the previous one ?? Hope you all are well.

But the folks up in NC seem to have gotten the worst of it, as nobody expects a hurricane that far north, and in the mountains! Helene just broke all the rules.
