Perhaps as Christians it is again time to read the original instructions. It is fairly well summed up in the Bible in Deuteronomy in chapter 28. I find that for the old western world, US, England and such that verses 43 to 45 may have some insight, but the whole chapter is well worth thinking about. They Jews did not in the long run listen to the words of the book and wandered in the wilderness not for 40 years, but for nearly 2,000 and their continued existence is still in doubt as far as having a national holy land, They have lost most of the old lands and most of the tribes. In chapter 28 God's word is given to what will happen if as a nation you follow the book as well as what will happen if you don't. As usual I make the disclaimer that the Bible is a book of beliefs as is the Christian faith. You either believe or you don't. The New Testament has a much more forgiving nature and a promise of salvation. The old Testament is much more based on the rule law. I find comfort in both. Dude, this is the Faith and Religion section of the forum, of course you do not need to type this. I am not only one of its gatekeepers, I was instrumental at making it. Everybody is safe here within this section to talk about their religion without fear. Just keep it here so we do not offend our other members. They were also forbidden to occupy the Holy Land until one-third their numbers were massacred. Funny how that came to pass during WWII, even though the number 6 million is highly suspect. A self-fulfilled prophecy is not fulfillment of the word of the creator.
