lol...my dad made a remarkable wooden merry-go-round....instead of it being circular, he made a square wooden one, which whacked a lot of shins...I think it was his carpentry attempt at evolution by natural selection to teach us to be more agile.

I did a house foreclosure flip a few years back , and I got a little to fancy and spending more than I should, but I don't like walking away from something that I know isn't right .
So when it came down to the kitchen, I was going to have to spend about 6000 dollars in cabinets alone . So I drew it out ,, and bought the hardware , drawer slides and knobs ,, 1x materials, and 3/4 cabinet grade plywood for the job . I had less than a 1000 bucks in the whole job , including paint .
I'm a jack of all , master of none myself ,, just finished replacing an AC compressor and accumulator in my 6.0 diesel pickup truck ,, took it to get it charged up , and the guy said it would be a week before he could do it ,,so I bought the Guage and hoses , a cheap vacuum pump ,, and did it myself,, for the same price he was going to charge me. And I learned the workings of the system ,, and now I'm gonna fix the system in my 07 Honda cheap gas driving car. It takes me longer than a mechanic ,, but I save that money.

I hear ya, had to do all kinds of maintenance jobs on my house, right from the start. Newlyweds, we couldn't afford to pay to have stuff done, built both decks on the house, installed the telephone pole at the house wiring the meter base to the house,etc.. all they had to do was hook their wires from their pole to mine (elec. co.) . I have a bumper sticker on my toolbox that says "someone has to do it!". i don't want to work on any newer cars after the 0X's, won't buy the tools and/or knowledge, not needed for me! LOL all my stuff is '92 or older, wife got a new 2023 Silverado, but we leased it for 3yrs. or 36K miles under the bumper to bumper warranty, oil chg's and tune-ups only for me.(y):)
