Dolly Parton, the Queen of Country Music died today. She was only 80 and had so much more to do on this planet, but we'll have to get along without her. She was an award-winning song writer, singer, and actress. She was also a wife and a damn good person that never forgot where she came from. R.I.P. PS On a personal note, I saw her perform at my small north Alabama university back in 1978. PSS My favorite Dolly quote is, "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap".
Saw this, Rip Dolly, Saw her at the Atlanta farmers market one-year, early 70's and she was the queen. She could really dance it up and to this day I wondered how she never gave herself 2 blackeyes, I'm glad she didn't.
I watched her sing, out in the middle of a local hay field while she was on the bed of a flatbed truck.
Forgot to mention, she was on the cover of Playboy in 1978. I heard that Old Hugh offered her $1,000,000 to pose in the nude, and Elvis, wanted to record her song, "I Will Always Love You" but she turned both of them down.
