Was this the matter-anti matter thing again? For a split second the mates to all my mismatched socks showed up as did all my 10mm anything I can't find, then POOF they were gone.

That happens to me frequently with all my stuff. POOF! Here one minute, gone the next. Too much damn stuff and clutter, I suppose. Could be a quantum time shift of some sort...or I have too much junk.
When I was managing a a VAX cluster at a hospital back in the 1990's we had to do periodic maintenance/upgrades/etc and when it was offline it impacted everything everywhere so most of it was at night. The next day it was inevitable that I would be asked what we did. I always told them we recalibrated the main thrust bearings and flushed the computational transport. Nobody ever even said "whut?" in those days where most people were unfamiliar with the technology.
