I use an ammo can to store one of my mobile communications setups, and lined it in cardboard and used a bubble wrap bag to keep the radios inside. Inside the box I placed the spare batteries and necessary programming cable, a backup battery charger, antennas, and frequencies on a list.

I've already programmed all the radios with Chirp to my preferences.

I also keep the K8 Nuke detector inside. Every 6 months I go through and recharge as needed. I do keep a separate handheld in the car for emergencies, and one in a Go-Bag. Overall, knowing where your kit is located and regularly going through it will keep you on point. I know from experience over the years that if I let it go too long I tend to forget certain details.
