Retirement... again.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I've been running against the wind toward retirement for the last 10 years. I am probably still 4 years out but have been downshifting my responsibilities to the point I can hear a Jake brake at all the meetings I attend.

Within the next few months I plan to transfer to security, or forklifts, or door greeter, or something for these last 4 years. I have worked around things well enough the cut in pay won't be the big deal that loss of benefits would.

It went smoothly as planned. There were three men who were in on it, the rest had no clue.

I got to give three guys "the finger." Like the one I use for pointing out things to customers in my videos.

Had a nice meeting and lots of farewell wishes. Some shocked looks, some tears, some worried looks with the realization that all the terrible jobs that have gravitated toward me for years would now be their problem.

I like the "what are you going to do now?"

    Whatever I want. ;)

My experience during my first week of retirement... It takes awhile to stop automatically waking up at 5AM to get ready to go in. But soon I was sleeping later. (y)

During my recovery from my hip ad knee replacement I became almost nocturnal. I don't want to start that cycle again. I've had an alarm that goes off constantly from 0500-0600. I ignore it once I'm up and when it turns off I know it's time for coffee. I'll see how I like waking up at the same time as I do now, to go for a walk before the sun comes up. Then come home and have coffee and check my mail. Then after all the morning commuters have left for the day I can go ride my bike. I went riding around the neighborhood during the Christmas holidays and there was zero traffic.

Project #1 is clearing out enough room for all my boxes and cabinets from work. Right now they take up about half of a two car garage. I may leave some of them with the technicians here.

Is this going to change your meme posting schedule? I try to arrange my morning coffee just after.

I'm semi retired,, just because work has been slow for a bit ,, and that has really affected my sleep habits ,, especially in this cold weather,,, I don't get outside early like I do when I've got somewhere to be ,,,and I've got problems sleeping,, so now I'm dragging ass in the mornings cause I cant sleep at night. I'm working on that tho.
Congratulations on your retirement,, you've earned it.

    Thanks guys.

Just a few final responsibilities to take care of and I can get down to morning walks, bike rides and reading.
