update. 11/25 same dish but now 165$ a month for 500gb. 100% signal strength and .008% obstruction has been pretty reliable. still have different speeds with different browsers. and which one is fastest changes between librewolf, firefox, brave. weird.
It's great to catch up and see this thread is continuing on. I still have the same exact setup, it just costs me $130/mo now. There are faster dishes from Starlink available now, but I get no deals or advantages (pay full price, no discounts) that make me want to switch over. To the dismay of my son (he's a gamer) I'll keep my round dishy until it does not work anymore.
There are options in the app to change plans, so I have dialed mine back to the 50 or 55 FRN plan with no noticeable difference in service. They also have a standby mode available for 5 FRNs per month, and I used that at deer camp over the winter. It was enough to support the live cameras I have there, so they are still able to notify me if something walks thru my yard.
If I was more of a kind person, I'd get a separate WiFi router and sell the excess GBs to my neighbors... I'm just not a kind person and don't trust them.
