    The mental concepts that define and create culture are beyond the intelligence of other species.

    People group together as a means of reinforcing their core values and beliefs. Finding like minded folks to pall around with invokes mutual trust a feeling of security. Used to be folks found commonality in love of country. Now people gravitate to groups like race, gender, religion, wealth or lack there of. Each has become a sub-culture.
