I saw this last Autumn and ended up buying several copies and giving them as Christmas presents to family members who are not up to speed on this type of information. I'm sure most Monkeys are familiar with a lot of this material, but it never hurts to add a new layer to skillsets we already have. Emerson is a retired SEAL, and shares some commonsense street survival skills that SEAL's are supposed to be masters of, bug out bags, improvised body armor, improvised weapons, surreptitious entry, blending into any environment, disguise, surveillance, evasion and escape, surviving an active shooter scenario, and even has a simple workout program to keep in fighting trim. Some stuff is inapplicable to most people, like stealing an airplane, and illegal border entry into foreign countries, but a lot of stuff that applies to everybody, especially those living in or near cities. This book has met with mixed reviews, with a lot of bad ones from what I consider the liberal press but I personally give it a thumbs up, and recommend this one as a keeper, especially for newcomers to the Monkey mindset of day to day survival. Amazon has several pages of the book up for free reading, so you might want to check it out.
I presume it includes a "this publication is for education and entertainment purposes only" type disclaimer?
Yeah, there is a disclaimer, but with this type of book and our litigeous society you would never get it published without one.

Do you think they sealed it in there for this purpose?
I have an android so I can access the battery. The iPhone users are sunk. it's not easy to jail break those
