The prediction we have all been waiting for has finally be released. Farmers' Almanac has published their 2017-18 winter prediction. You all in the East get ready because cold and snow is in the forecast. I have yet to receive the woolly bear report from back East and will share when I do. For our Monkeys in the South be prepared because it will be a soggy winter. Here is an article on Farmers' Almanac prediction Farmers' Almanac Says Winter 2018 Will Be Extra Awful Because Life Is Unfair Sometimes And if you have never purchased a Farmers' Almanac, I believe it is worth the cost.
It certainly has been a soggy summer down here. We lost fruit trees, tomatoes, cukes, squash, melons to way too much rain. The bees left, I think they migrated to Nevada. Only thing that seems not to mind are squirrels, turtles, and weeds.
@Seacowboys is right. I have heard that the South had a wet summer. I am wondering if it will hurt the crop production/harvest. I always watch these predictions because it is not just making sure you have a winter coat but also my local produce section depends on the weather being normal.
Been a wet summer here in North Florida. Good thing is, our water table is back up from our drought of a few years back.
Well I may finally get to use my wood stove I purchased. It just never got quite cold enough to use. It got cold but not for any real extended periods of time.
When first moved to Nevada some years ago, I asked a longtime resident why it was so windy. He told me that it was because California blows and Utah sucks.
Drier than normal for a change here in this part of the PNW, but like we always say...Wait a minute. I've even had to water my landscaping, something I haven't had to do for a good 6 years.
