Colloidal Silver

I've been using it for several years now and get mixed reaction when I bring up the subject. For instance, when I felt the flu bug coming on the first thing I did was to take some 'Silver' instead of looking for cold meds or calling the doctor. I still got the flu, but it was only a mild case, the same with when I get a cold, it doesn't stick around long.

I still run in to people who have never heard of it and are basically unbelievers.

So, anyone feel like a discussion on it's many uses?

I make up a quart at a time and keep it in a old screw top beer bottle, when I see it setting out on the counter empty, I know my wife has been hitting the bottle again and it won't be long until she tells me, "You need to make silver!"

Do a search for colloidal silver on this site. There is a discussion somewhere from a year or so ago.

i've heard good things and heard from skeptics as well. I've never heard anything concrete to indicate it was bad.....just people who didn't believe it worked.

i believe rodan uses it as well, maybe he has some insight.

I'm no expert, but I would think of it more as an antibiotic. You don't take an antibiotic for flu do you?

While it is true that I could have done that, there are many new members here now and the subject of the flu came up, I thought maybe some one might have new ideas or uses for colloidal silver. Some of the claims I've seen seem a bit on the wild side, but I've used it with some success over the years and so have many of my friends and family.

FWIW, I thought it wouldn't hurt to open up a new thread. Maybe someone would like to search and link us to past discussions. I would but I have to get out and work while the sun shines. Waiting right now for the hired help to show up.

I was aquainted with someone in florida who also turned himself blue with this stuff, he swore it cured his diabetes, he then developed a major infection and died a short time later.[imwithstupid1]

I doubt I'll ever take it enough to harm me if I live to be a 100. It is, after all a heavy metal and should only be taken in moderation. I probably don't use much more than a quart myself in a years time. Like I said, I'm an old guy and I feel pretty much like I have the flu when I'm at my best. Believe me when I say I had only a mild case of the flu, younger and healthier folks than me got a whole lot more sick than I did. I also warn my wife not to use too much when a little is all you realy need.

I am also a diabetic but never even considered it a cure for that. I understand too much about diabetes to mess with some home remedy. Eating right and exercising are the best first treatments for that, and then the medication prescribed by a doctor if that alone is not doing it. There are several other claims made by people regarding CS, but it's most effective use is against the micro bugs we come in contact with, not allergies. Come to think of it, whiskey might be just as good. However, I strongly advise moderation with that too.

My Late Grandmother used to make me drink what she called "Sulphur Water", which was well water with a lot of carbon particles, nasty taste but she said it would "clean out the poisons", I smarted off once and said I never drank poisons to begin with, she then made me drink three or four glasses of that stuff. Suffice to say I never smarted off to her again.

I havent used it but would figure that if used as it is generaly intended to be (as needed in small amounts same as other meds) then it should be a good thing based on what I know about it.

As far as the 'blue guy', he made it stronger than most and he drank a tea glass or 2 every day for several years as well as washing his skin with it for skin problems. Sohis use of it would be kind of like someone takeing a couple dozen asprin every day for a few years, he has had a massive overdose of it, if it had been most any pharmicutical then he would be dead rather than blue for life.

That's the thing. Use it don't abuse it. Learn what your doing. Too easy for some numbnuts to start making it up and not read the instructions.

I have used it for years off and on. Still have a generator for making my own. The PPM has to be monitored and consistent. Plus good quality silver to make it with.

I've never had anything turn blue on my body......well, I do spend a lot of time away from home and....never mind.

We had a lot of discussion on this with some great info earlier. Not many topics that you can't find some info on here.

I have had three different attacks of "the flu" this year with the last one just a couple weeks ago taking a heavy toll leaving me incapacitated for several days with a high fever and a body working hard to get that stuff out of me through any and every possible means. Nuff said about that part.....

Someone I know who found out I was sick this last time came by with some colloidal silver for me. I did use it and in all honesty I started feeling better within the first hour of taking my first "dose".

I understand that back before the days of common refrigeration a silver coin was often kept in jugs of milk to help keep them from going bad and in barrels of water for long term storage and use in wagon trains. I have also read accounts of silver being added to wells to purify the water.

As for the antibiotic vs viral issue some sources that I have run across claim it is effective against 800 + known harmful bacterias, virus and parasites. I don't have that source right here (and of course cannot vouch for the accuracy of that claim) but did a search on it prior to actually using it and expect anyone doing a google search could easily find it too.

I can't say for certain that the silver is "the thing" that brought me back to health so quickly but the very quick response seems logically to be more than coincidence. I know that the person that brought it to me uses it when he feels something coming on and claims it usually has an instantaneous effect for him.

I guess I am on board with the "use in moderation" wagon but as always, use at your own risk.
