With my problem with Solitaire, I don't know if I dare try one of those games. Looks like a lot of fun.
all these games are free plus open source, which means ya can download the source code, which is also free plus we have Solitaire too
One of my favorite 'free' games is still World of Tanks. It's free to play and I've spent more to play it than any other game I have ever owned. I love tanks! It's a fairly arcadey type game with tanks on the battlefield as a theme. Their ad campaigns are beginning to reach more people, especially if you are a frequent visitor to youtube. If you like planes more than tanks, WarThunder is an option that also has tanks! Because I love tanks remember? It's also F2P (free to play) but, like WoT, allows one to spend as much money as they could ever want. The tank play in WT has a much more realistic simulator type feel to it. I have way too many hours wasted...er I mean invested into both titles. Both titles will require fairly updated computers to run with stunning visuals and terrain textures turned up. In fact, WoT will see an HD update in March of 2018 that will update the game world to have fully HD maps. The video examples are pretty amazing looking. Both are commercial properties so you don't get the source code with them. Not sure about their playability on Linux OS's either. I've always just kept a game box setup with windows so have never really delved into gaming in a Linux environment. If you like tanks, give 'em a try. But be warned, both games are grind fests that require you to play a lot to advance in the lines to play higher and higher tier tanks. Let me know what you think if you do try them out. @Byte It appears World of Tanks officially runs on win Xbox 360 Xbox One PlayStation 4 some folks were able to run it on Linux usin wine however YMMV
I'm too mentally challenged to use a game controller so I just stick to PC's running winblows... But hey, it's great that there are other options for those who aren't! I do see in the link now that WT does appear to have a Linux client if anybody is interested in trying it. That 0 A.D. game looks fun. I loved the Age of Empires games. Star Craft and Warcraft were also excellent RTS titles.
'0 A.D. originally began as a comprehensive total conversion mod concept for Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings in June 2001.' It is now a full game, however it is still in alpha, it is playable despite all the bugs a few monkeys also used to play another RTS which is also a survival game of sorts linux has approximately 600 games that are completely free plus open source a few of them are really well done in recent years thanks in part to Valve/Steam several commercial games [ non-Free ] have been ported to Linux
I had a few games I liked but are no longer available due to computer upgrades . Carnivores 2 and Carnivores Ice age , Delta force land warrior . What i loved in these was the freedom of movement and tactical advantage of doing the unexpected . When the opponents movement are equally unexpected there is a margin of realism to the challenge . PC games are superior IMO .
Hi, dear friends. Of the free games at the moment, I personally like cs go the most. This game has a large amount of online, as well as the ability to customize your weapons using skins. In order to get cool skins, I open cases on the platform Free Case - CS:GO Case Opening, Cool Skins | Skin.Club, the cases are cheap, and the skins you can get the most expensive.
@Byte....agree on World of Tanks...it is a very playable game...graphics setup and processing speed make a big difference as does internet download speed and service reliability...I play on the APAC (HongKong and ANZ) servers. Although the game is free to download, update and play, at the end of the day, the game developer / service provider has to earn its revenue...so it does that by selling desirable bling, selling gold and silver game credits for FRNS. The game can be played satisfactorily for free...but progress in upgrading crew skills, equipment modules, and higher tier tanks can be progressively slower the higher up the 'tech trees' one progresses....painfully slow...hence the temptation to shortcut the grinding by spending FRNs Have been playing the game for a couple of years now, keeping the brainbox active in my dotage. It is good for hand eye coordination and problem solving (tactics) and, if a member of a clan, there is also a social dimension to the game....in which case a headset is advantageous..( it doesn't have be expensive)...I use the Discord app for online chat with clanmates...TeamSpeak is another commonly used comms app. If anyone wants more info, am happy to help out.
Been a minute since I last checked in. WoT is still my jam. Been playing 8 years...wow. I am completely finished with the tech grind, all tech tree tanks elited through tier 9 and have just 20 tier 10's to grind the silver to buy. I have over 200 premium tanks in my sad sad collection. Still love the game though.
Yes, including the Communist Manifesto as a crew training booklet for the Russian tech line was just a little much...coming this May Day I expect.
wanted to play WoT's myself, purchased a win10 HP laptop that had the game on it. tried downloading better graphics etc. recommended by the game, download starts and after 10 gigabytes (still downloading!) i tried to stop it but couldn't i finally had to physically remove the battery!! ( i know not recommended ) never messed with it again ( the game ), now i no longer have anything with sufficient computing power to run it anymore. oh well.
I love Starcraft II. It's free and a fun strategy game. Too many good metaphors for life. But those gamers are so meanspirited and say a lot of mean things. I don't think it would bother guys, but at the end of the day I'm still a girl. Nowadays I only play against the AI. Or I team up with my friends and ignore the chats.
