I couldn't watch it either,it was on, I was reading the monkey instead of taking notes. When I looked up it was the lightest, fluffiest of interviews .. he admitted he made a few mistakes but the troops know they are involved in something important..otherwise it looked like any press conference, he said he makes the decisions as commander in chief
And "he does the best he can..." Sorry look else where for hardhittin' analysis( cbs newswith kati couric? maybe).

Sounds like a broken record. Always the same things said to different music. I didn't know drones droned on this much about nothing. Seems he can't come up with anything original or he is only handed a few choice excuses that the American people will 'buy' according to his writers.

Yeah ,thats why I only gave it one ear: Interviewer asked/said "Well in vietnam troops did 365 days then they came home"
Bush replies" that was a different war they were conscripts these people today are volunteers. " I heard that and went back to the monkey. poor folks he doesnt have any idea...[dunno]
bush went into a hall to meet with families of dead soldiers, the intervewer asks " how was that"?? Bush looked alittle shaken said"well that was tough"...

Is Dick Cheney a Sith Lord?

That’s the undertone of Washington Post columnist Dan Froomkin’s article about the widespread criticism of Dick Cheney’s suggestion that those who voted for Ned Lamont are aiding and abetting terrorists. Froomkin: “Cheney ... may have crossed the line that separates legitimate political discourse from hysteria.”

Washington Post:
By insinuating that the sizeable majority of American voters who oppose the war in Iraq are aiding and abetting the enemy, Vice President Cheney on Wednesday may have crossed the line that separates legitimate political discourse from hysteria.
Cheney’s comments came in a highly unusual conference call with reporters, part of an extensively orchestrated and largely successful Republican effort to spin the obviously anti-Bush message of Ned Lamont’s victory over presidential enabler Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Democratic Senate primary.
In making the case that Lieberman’s defeat was actually an enormous boost for Republicans, the customarily furtive vice president let loose not with compelling argument, but unsupported invective.
... I’m not a Washington Post political reporter, but Jonathan Weisman is, and here’s what he had to say in a Live Online discussion last week:
“Medford, Mass.: Exactly how is it that our sitting Vice President can get away with saying basically that people who exercised their constitutional right to vote for change (ie: Conn. primary) are helping terrorists? How is this not the headline of a story, instead of a footnote? “Jonathan Weisman: The vice president also said the insurgency in Iraq is in its death throes, and that U.S. troops would be greeted as liberators. I’m afraid to say his utterances are losing their news value.”

Here's a better picture done. Not as good as most go, though still the same idea. This is what it really seems to be like.

BUSH TO LAWMAKERS ON IRAQ: ‘DO YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA?’
THE CONSTITUTION PARTY SAYS: YES! TAKE IT FROM CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN SAM FARR

Lancaster, PA: The CONSTITUTION PARTY responds to President Bush’s challenge for skeptics of his plan to send more to troops to Iraq to “come up with their own ideas” by offering this suggestion:

Tell Congress to pass H.R.413 which would repeal the bogus Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243) and require the orderly withdrawal of the United States Armed Forces from Iraq.

James N. Clymer, Constitution Party Chairman, said:

“Since the “intelligence” used to get us into the Iraq war has been shown to be false, we must first acknowledge we’ve been duped into an unjustified war. Proposed escalation of that war cannot be condoned. We would do well to admit that Congress handed over its constitutional authority to declare war to a president who has shown wanton disregard for the United States Constitution, not to mention the lives of our brave soldiers. We should attempt to stop the bloodshed of this senseless war as soon as possible. California Congressman Sam Farr’s proposed legislation H.R. 413 would do just that.”

The Constitution Party decries the unlawful resolution that became justification for the war (Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq Resolution of 2002) and echoes Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb, a Viet Nam veteran, when he said:

“This president’s (plan to increase troops in Iraq) represents the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Viet Nam if it’s carried out.”

The repeal of the Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq is the perfect response to the president’s challenge for lawmakers critical of his troop “surge” plan to come up with their “own” proposals.

In just two paragraphs, H.R. 413 outlines a simple and straightforward response to the president’s plan. It restores to Congress the war-making powers usurped by President Bush in 2002, and will allow us to end the carnage that began when the U.S. invaded Iraq nearly four years ago.

With unusual clarity and simplicity H.R. 413 says:

SECTION 1.
The Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107–243; 50 U.S.C.1541 note) is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. WITHDRAWAL OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES FROM IRAQ.
The President of the United States shall provide for the withdrawal of units and members of the United States Armed Forces deployed in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in a safe and orderly manner.

Mary Starrett, CONSTITUTION PARTY Communications Director said: “For those wondering how this war could possibly have been allowed to become the miasma it is, H.R. 413 stands as the first sane response to the war to come out of Congress since this bloodbath began.”

The CONSTITUTION PARTY says now is the time for Americans citizens to contact their U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators and tell them they can show the sincerity of the oath of office they took when they swore to uphold the constitution by voting to pass H.R. 413.

That's the only part of the legislation that leave room to twist...Other than that it ,s in english clear ,to the point, and sorry to say necessary...we've got our thang caught in a kitchen drawer and 20/20 hindsight says we can do better by not throwing brave kids lives away. I know we "broke it" , or did we(?) , its been broken since saddam had his infamous televised purge.

Sniper? I'd really like to hear your take on this ( Iraq)??
