    Hey Monkeys,

It's been a while since I've dropped in. It just dawned on me that you guys might like to know about a program called Peer Guardian 2. It's basically an IP blocker you run while surfing the net. It will actively try to block all the IP addresses in its ban list. It blocks IP ranges from various institutions such as:

    • Advertising Companies
    • Educational Institutions
    • Governments
    • P2P Snoops
    • Spyware Groups

My current list of banned IPs is 1,010,693,069. It's amazing to look at the log file that shows when IP addresses are blocked. Many of them occur when I'm not even doing anything at my computer.

To start blocking, you'll need to download the software.
    Software Site: http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

Once it's downloaded, make sure you update the ban list by clicking the "Check Updates" button.

Additionally, you can click the "Block HTTP" button to prevent block ad services and other IPs trying to access your computer through port 80 (which is what's used while browsing the Internet). Sometimes, I turn this off if it makes a site I'm viewing run slow.

    Enjoy,
    Aptus

Yeah, this a must have if you're using your own connection to download movies or music, if you do that type of thing.

How much disk space does it need? Over a billion IPs of at least 8 digits each is a pile of code.
