Just picked up a Mossberg 151K .22 LR (circa 1950-1951) for $130 at a local shop. I am still interested in a Mod 63, but they are salty..I will wait and keep looking. In all, it is a fine rifle (151K), and I can't wait to take it out and fire a hundred rounds through her. Right now, I am going to strip it and clean it well. I know it fires since we tested it earlier.

As for the Walther P22, well it was a quick decision really. I wanted one for a bit now, but I never could justify 3 bills for one. It is a snap to take down, but upon reassembly, I have to use a small piece of plastic (rod) to get the mainspring from folding (obviously not the best design). I will also take her out and plink a few dozen cans or so.

What a beauty, just color me green, with envy. And a great price too. Haven't been in a shop in a long time, and generally 22's were running 125. regardless of condition or make.

Did it come with the parts list, or is that on-line scrounging ?

Cool find on the mossberg. Think I've only seen one of those in my life.

Make sure any mags you get for the walther are marked with an "A" those are the mags redesigned to minimize feed jams

That's good to know. I will have to remember that as I get more mags for the Walther.

And the photo is not the actual rifle I have; it is almost as nice, the blue is near perfect, and the stock only has a couple of small dings, but it is much darker. It was really dirty inside, and I had to clean it thoroughly. I ordered the original paperwork and manual from online for less than $10. The info I posted was online sourcing.

WoW! I haven't seen one of those since I was a pup!
    Interested in that Walther P-22.....
I was going to buy a couple, but the price was daunting for what I felt it was...Then I had been told by some early buyers there was a real problem with either the feed ramp or magazines jamming....
    Maybe it's been fixed now?
I dont' prefer the Rugers, but for that amount of moolah, I'd buy the Ruger first....(don't care for the whole cocking system, and the tear down is not really fun at all) I had the Ruger 22/45 model.
Now looking at some other pistols I had before....

The old Mossbergs are real classics. My first gunshow purchase was my Model 152 carbine - uses the box magazine. I paid more for the two aftermarket 15-round magazines than I did for the rifle! It has the fold-down fore end. Makes for a sort of quicky 'monopod' to shoot off of.
I am up to seven Mossberg .22 rifles now. Like Mosins and Mausers - you just can't have ONE! [winkthumb]

Thanks for the tip on the mags for the walther. My son has had nothing but problems with that issue

I just got finished with creating a complete (as complete as possible) manual in .pdf format for the 151 series .22 rifle made by Mossberg. You can download below. I utilized all original documents and various photos in order to come up with a well rounded 151k manual.

I am surprised at how well my 151k manual has circulated on the internet in less than a year. I did a Google and it came up in a few places, which is good to see.

my walther p22 has been fine, cheap to fire and really light and small. my G22 has jamming issues, seems like i can only do stingers in it so it wont jam

My hunting buddy has a Walter P22, in a weird but really neat 'digital desert camo' finish. Danggit, that might be my next .22 handgun...... even in my huge mitts, the little pistol shoots mighty good! b::

Hi Guys ,I just got one of these very nice Mossberg .22 as above, but am having a small issue and hoping someone here will have some advise.
when loading the tube magazine (whether 1 round or 15 rounds) the first round just does not enter the first cartridge doesnt fully enter the lift and as such does not get picked up by bolt on cocking. any ideas what issue can be?

I have had the Walther for several years, and it has been fired by more women than me taking their CCW courses. I have a Kydex belt holster, 2 mags, and the threaded barrel extension. I grab it for walks in the woods and for a coat pocket gun quite often. Great little plinker and "get off me" gun, well made and in my opinion worth the money.

Most likely you have a sticky lift, at the end of the Tube Magazine.. I would disassemble the receiver and clean and lube the whole mechanism.. Then try the weapon again.. Seems to me that once a round does feed, the lift works as intended, but after any significant layoff the stickyness returns, and prevents the lift from operating properly… Just my opinion, YMMV….
