Yeah maybe just that, killing him.

I have bought large Milkbones for my dog and give them to him on every single morning along with his Glucosamine and Chondroitin dose in a beef jerky treat form.
I have been doing this for more than 5 years.

I have always bought them from a store here called Bi-Mart or PGG feed store.
I went last week and bought some of the very same ones in the same type of size of bone and in the same type of box at Wall Mart.
I added them to what was left of the old ones from Bi Mart. Last Saturday.
Well last Sunday I give Jack his Glucosamine tablet then his Milk Bone , as soon he gets the Milk Bone down and takes 2 steps, he start doing the dog ratchetings of going to puke, with in 20 sec of consuming the Milk Bone.
I didn’t think much of it, as dogs tend to pucke.
Then Monday I give him the Glucosamine again and then the Milk Bone and after eating it, up its coming within 20 sec of eating it.
At this point I’m thinking something isn’t right here, or he has the dog flu or something wrong. I know that the Glucosamine or Milkbone is looking like it doesn’t agree with him anymore.
I let him out and back in then I’m sitting at my computer a little later thinking about it and realize I need to figure out which it would be.

So I skip the milk bone in the morning and give him the Glucosamine and watch him…….. Nothing just fine……. Waiting nothing normal as normal as always, except he looking for the milk bone.
So all week no milk bones and he’s fine.
So today I buy some from Safeway’s Store and bring them home and toss one to Jack and watch him…….. Nothing fine now its 3 hrs later nothing………
I then give him one from the Wall Mart box “BINGO” Puke fest again!!!!!!!
I’m going to call Milk Bone company and raise hell, after I talk to jacks Vet and see if there is anything he can do to help me out to find out what is in these.
Beware of Wall Mart Milk Bones
The reason im am skeptical of Wall Mart Pet food is this:
I had a female Red Heeler the same age as jack got them the same day.
At age 7 I out of convenience stopped at Wal-Mart and started feed them Old Roy brand dog food, 2 50lbs later Lynndee is dieing, and I have to put her to sleep, and Jack is looking sickly as well with a terrible coat.
Upo until that point of the 2 bags, I have always fed them Purina Bentiful as adult dogs, after loosing Lynndee I have had this nagging feeling it’s the food Old Roy, but cant prove it, so now 3 years later I happen to go back and buy Milk bones one time and now they are killing jack to one extent or another.
Beware of the pet food there.
More later as I get things going on this.

Let us know what you find out. I know I feed my dog Old Roy some of the time since its the about the ONLY dog food he will eat and usualy he will starve himself if you dont let him eat cat food.

Very interesting on the Wal-Mart bones... dunno

I've read some debate on the "100% complete and Balanced" label we're supposed to look for in pet food. Might not really mean much. I try to look for foods that have meat as the first ingredient. Most have Corn Meal as the major ingredient and let's face it. Dogs are not naturally grazers. they are carnivores.

Another thing I notice is that the 'wild' animal population doesn't seem to have the same pet ailments that our domesticated, (Pet food fed) do. I don't always practice what I preach but I do believe that a large % of our medical ailments, Humans and pets, are nutrition deficiencies.

I have never cared for the cat food stuff out of WalMart...always smelled funny. None of my cats cared for it either. I'm thinking the dog food may have the same problem at least in our area Quig.

    Quig,

Was the milk bones the Original brand in the red box or a WalMart milk bone brand? I've always bought the Original milk bones and I buy them either from Safeway or WalMart without any complaints from my 3 dogs. As far as dog food, I always buy the Purina One Lamb and Rice that has meat first in it. All my dogs like it. The better the quality of dog food, the less fillers it has in it and the dogs won't be going #2 quite as much either.

That's very weird Quig. Maybe it's Jack's system that can't handle the milk bones any more? Since it's only about 20 seconds after feeding it to him, his stomach hasn't even had a chance to think about digesting it, so you can rule that out. How is Jack eating it, gulping down big bites or regular bites of the milk bone? Have you tried to break it up for him to see if it gets the same reaction? I guess you could of gotten a bad box of milk bones too. Like I said all 3 of my dogs get them every day without any problems....your guess is as good as mine.

Allergy? Last pet store I was in had a lot less wrapping on the all the stuff laing around, might have absorbed something from the air.

Im thinking is something like that, or wallmart bought a lot of "F" grade from them and sold them anyway.
