A couple weeks a got an email from a soldier in Iraq who wanted to buy a Sadlak Aluminum Scope Mount. Although the aluminum model wasn't intended for combat situations, since he was buying it himself, I think it was a money issue. We happened to have one aluminum with special tungsten coating we were testing. Tungsten has an embedded oil property. I had the shop clean the surface of any oil because of the concern it might attract dirt and sand given the environment. We deeply discounted the mount for active duty purchase and shipped it fastest possible to the APO. I just heard back today by email from the soldier. He sent some good photos and was extremely pleased with the mount. Said it fit like a gloove. I'm very pleased that he's happy with the purchase but after a half dozen emails back and forth, I feel a more personal connection. He has promised to keep in touch, as do most of the other troops who have bought our products (we get several emails and photos every week). He'll be reporting back with his on the front field testing. While there isn't much we can do from stateside for our military stationed abroad, what we can do is try our best to respond to their needs as they come up and to continue the connection on a human level to let them know how much we appreciate their service to our country.

I'll email a few of the troops for their permission and try to post them as soon as I get their responses. I don't think any of them will object so expect some photos early in the week.

Our friend, Jason, with the 42nd ID said he was caught changing a tire when that sandstorm hit. Probably Minuteman can appreciate this type of storm more than most of us.

I'm sure nothing would please him more magnus. He's due back stateside in a few months and has promised to visit. He sent us this in the mail. Mike Sadlak framed it and put it on his desk.

I loved the pics. It really touches my heart to see those kids with the soldier. Those kids will have opportunities now that they never would have had under So-Damn-Insane. Stay the course, freedom is contagious. I loved the pics of the M-14's too. I wonder what kind of optics the military is putting on them. Are they Unertil scopes?

Thanks again for the pics. Post more when you can.

The 3rd from the top and the bottom ones in the first series are aimpoint. This is the young guy who just had us send him an aluminum scope mount. He will be keeping us posted the the performance. I'll check my files to see if I have any info on the optics used by the 42nd ID - our friend Jason in the other photos. I'm sure Mike Sadlak will know if I can't find it. The 42nd use the Sadlak steel mount which we supplied before they deployed last year. Note - Although we are very proud to be supplying the troops, this information is intended as information only and not meant to sound like a commercial for Sadlak porducts.
