Depends on WHERE in ID you are trying to grow a garden. How much water you have, and what you plan on growing... I spent my college years in Idaho, and watched folks do real well, with local gardens... .....
If your down in the valley, it can be easy.. Here in the mountains it can be a bit more challenging.. Just thought some folks may find some of the files I had saved over the years interesting..
@Dont you are very correct. Some regions it almost seems impossible to grow in but it can be done. This should be added to resources because it is a how to guide for problem areas.
I live in north Idaho and generally have a pretty good garden. This has been my best year ever for tomatoes and corn. That being said the season can be pretty short. I have had frost in every month of the year at one time or another. Raised beds helps and watch the forecast. If they predict lows of 40 degrees or less I cover the sensitive plants. Its common at my place to be 8-10 degrees below whatever is foretasted. A green house also helps.
