This is just a tit for tat reaction to the Polish agreement of alliance with the US/NATO countries on the missile defence program and the if we are threatened or attacked you best come help us deal.

I worry load's about just how this will actually work out in reality, ever since the wall fell the west has been demilitarizing to a point where they have never been as weak, here in Germany they have irreversibly closed down so many bases, and reduced the number of active duty soldiers to an absolute minimum. The time it would take to reactivate or mobilize their reserve troop's would mean that it would be over before they could get to the places of duty, also placing those mobilization bases at the top of the target list for air and artillery attacks, leaving them up the creek without a paddle. I won't even go into the amount of stockpiled equipment which has been either destroyed or sold on as surplus for next to nothing.

JMHO., Obama is not the right choice for PROTUS., and as a Brit it hasn't anything to do with me, but both of your choices for PROTUS are lets just say not what they should be, good luck.

I'm just worried that this could be the start of a new arms race between Russia and the West. As far as the politicians are concerned, it seems to just be a whole lot of rhetoric at this stage. The financial analysts, on the other hand, are talking about the reality of a cold war that's already started.

With the US economy on the verge of collapse, and the lack of military installations in the EU, any sort of arcing up against Russia could be disastrous to the world economy. Add in that pesky little detail of Europe now being vulnerable to energy-blackmail by Russia...

I hope I'm just being paranoid, but I think if this doesn't calm down soon it could escalate very quickly.
