It seems an okay Romanian AK - not great, not bad on the average. I have the Romak - very similar, though mine has the "Dragunov-style" stock.
A batch of Romanian AK's came over a few years back with canted front sights - check before buying to be on the safe side - though most are straight.
Any AK goodies fit the Romanians.

A good one is good, a bad one is bad. If buying F2F try it out. Mine was pretty poor shooter, got rid of it. I have 2 Yugo's now. Shoot much better.

Then again your surroundings mean a lot when choosing a no-no weapon. AKS's are good for anything urban or under 200 yrds. Anything beyond that go to a M1A, FAL, etc.

But if you have limited resources the AKS of any flavor is reliable.

Anyone able to go to War Rifles and repost my WASR10 stickie?

I have put over 15,000 rounds through one this year.

    It is my car gun.

    This the one?

"There is much said about WASR10's... many people say they are no good.
It is my contention that the Americans who put together the guns screw some of them up. There are ways to check for this, and even if you don't catch it them you will know within the first couple hundred rounds.

I have talked about my WASR10... but here is a statement about Tactical Responses 'Rental guns' ... WASR10's.

    Quote:
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=6 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=alt2 style="BORDER-RIGHT: 1px inset; BORDER-TOP: 1px inset; BORDER-LEFT: 1px inset; BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px inset">40k-50k is a conservative estimate. Keep in mind if someone takes Fighting Rifle and then the Contractor Shooting Package with a rifle they will shoot 5,000+ rounds in those 7 days. We have had guys come and take Fighting Rifle and then the Contractor Shooting, Driving and Medical Packages in a row and that is about 11k rounds in 17 days of training.

I have had these AKs since late 2005 and not one of them has broken and they have had the crap kicked out of them.
    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I don't think I can add anything to that except to say I believe that round count is on the low side."

Geez, what a melt down going on over there. Welcome to the Monkey Nomad.

i have a heavily moded wasr 10 and well i havnt had one problem at all. ive done the best testing i could, mistreating it in the cider pit, kicking ect. just wanting to make sure and not one f2f/f2e. very round has shot straight. accuarcy leaves a bit to be desired, but im not asking for a better than human silhouette target rifle at more than 200 m.
just my experiences, hope it helps

I have had a couple of them. Take a good look at them before you buy them. Look for canted sights, and make sure a magazine will insert before you buy. Some of them have mag well problems. I had to work on the magazine well of two of them after I bought them. Dremel did the job on the mag well, but it would be better if you didn't even have to do it in the first place. If you have problems with trigger slap, you could replace the FCG for not that much. They are cheap, extremely durable semi-auto rifles.

Where's Mags when we need him?

The WASR's Rifles are imported completed rifles. Century changes them to pistol grip configuration and installs US parts to make them 922r compliant. There for the poor initial quality is from poor Romy quality control, the furthered by Century's monkeys.

Now Century is assembling the Yugo rifles with NON-Chromed US barrels. I have heard of a few with various function issues because of poor assembly. However the general consensus is a decent on.

My personal WASR has over 5k down the pipe without a hiccup. Oh and here is a video of an AK torture test I have heard a little about.

Man, that brings back good memories. The AK build. Monkeyman's AK, out on the range with Magnus. Good memories all.

Mags, you need to dig up that old thread with your AK torture test where it was uh, drug all over. Last time I checked it the pics were not active.
Do the newbies here a favor and lets bring it back up.
