I was checkin' out these new pistols. Taurus single action semi auto with a backup double action pull for a second strike on an unfired round.

The follow up strike isn't much of an issue, imo, but I like a crisp sa trigger pull rather than the da only stuff that's taken over.

Just wondered if anybody has tried one out...... what kinda safety does it use? Like the 1911?

Hmmmm...seems like an unusual marketing ploy?

With dud's I have had it still seems like 50% of them still don't go off with the second attempt.

I have a PT 940 (40 S&W) which is SA/DA and it will allow me to pull the trigger and give a dud a second chance .

The safeties on them are uniquie as the weapon may be carried DA safety on , DA safety off, or in condition one hammer back safety on just like a 1911 .

When you lower the hammer you push the safety past the off point and the hammer is physically blocked at the low part of the hammer , there for you don't have to worry about a AD due to energy transfer to the firing pin as was reported with some of the early S&W 9mm's such as the model 59's .

I like the trigger in both modes and my only complaint is either it shoots low or I shoot it low due to years of using 1911's and DA revolvers .

It has been 100% malfunction free with a few hundred rounds of hollow points and I wouldn't hesitate to use it .
