Okay, listening to the radio on the drive in this morning, I heard some discussion that I've heard twice this week. They mentioned the RNC is working in the background to come up with a plan if Donald Trump drops out of the race. Now, this is the 2nd time it's been mentioned. I find it very unlikely that something this extreme would happen, and this is likely typical MSM claptrap to further attempt to hurt his campaign, but, if it did, who do you think the RNC would put up in his place, and, would you vote for that person?

I have not been a Trump supporter from the beginning. I've stated very clearly that I can't stand the guy, but, he gets my vote because in my opinion the alternative is much, much worse, and with her ability to stack the SCOTUS against us, would affect us for decades to come.

I'll start by saying the most likely candidate in my mind would be Kasich. There is no way the RNC would select Cruz, they hate his guts. But Kasich was the only other candidate to get as far into the race.

As for voting, I would still vote whoever gets teed up for the Republican ticket because I can't do anything in my limited power to give Hillary a chance. I know there are 'never Trumpers' out there - would you then vote R? Or for the die-hard Trump supporters, if he dropped out, would you vote for the replacement candidate?

Just a little mind game this morning to see how a shake-up like this could potentially affect the race.

    Talk amongst yourselves...:coffee:

It sounds like disinformation to sway voters on the fence. Start putting doubt in their minds now ....

This will only get worse by the Dems. Hil cant run on her record and wont go up in the poles, but Trump can go down and thats what the plan is.....

It will be curious to see if this story starts to pick up steam and develop into something bigger. Part of the story they gave today was that he never actually believed he would get this far and isn't really interested in making it to the White House. Amazing what these stories can do to people. Question is, how do you sort out claptrap from reality? I heard this today on a typically conservative radio station.

Yesterday, the first time in the history of our Country, that a sitting President stated in a press conference with a foreign head of state, that the opposition party candidate "was unfit to serve as the President of the United States."

They basterds will stop at nothing to get the SOW elected.

This is certainly an election unlike anything I've seen in my lifetime. I suspect that's true for everyone, regardless of age.

Betcha Obama's little hit speech yesterday gives Trump at least a 5 point boost in the polls.

As far as the rumors of Trump dropping out of the race, there are people out there who have been saying from the beginning that Trump is only running to destroy the GOP and ensure a Clinton win. At present, based on the most current polls and the condition of the GOP establishment, he's doing a good job of it.

But as far as the polls go, they have been meaningless to this point and in this election will probably remain meaningless. Traditionally, the polls that most accurately represent the election results are those done a couple of weeks after the conventions have ended...so if you pay attention to the polls, next week's polling would normally be a good indicator of what's going to happen in November. But again, I think all bets are off in this election...anything could happen between now and election day and a LOT of people are going to remain undecided up till the time they pull the lever.

And...the American public's attention span is VERY short. What we're talking about today will likely be forgotten by November. Agreed, polls are worthless. Certainly is a crazy year.

Trump, voluntarily dropping out of the race, after he has received the GOP nomination??? Man, that's just crazy talk. His ego will simply not permit it. A billet for him and his current wife in the White House...Airforce1 at his beck and call...international schmoozing with other Heads of State. Gosh, even a Nobel Peace Prize if he can get Putin out of the Ukraine (Well if a dufus like Obama can swing one, why not Drumpf).

No, Drumpf will go all the way to the election in November. That's not to say that Donaldo the magnificent will necessarily see out the whole of his term if elected...he may do a Palin, and throw the towel in before his term of office expires, after he has achieved the kudos and glam of being US Prez #45. (I'm punting that health issues will be the likely reason...well, it worked for him in evading a Purple Heart in Vietnam). Alternatively Donaldo may be removed by impeachment, or he may just aggravate one US citizen too many, for the Secret Service to be able to intercept successfully. I sincerely hope that Mike Pence is up to the task of being US Prez #46.

I think the massive lib disinformation campaign and the anti-trump right wing folks are just stirring chit up....
As @AD1 stated, the independents and other undecided folks sitting on the fence are the key to who gets elected.... get them to doubting Trump and sway their vote....hildabeast gets elected.

And for anybody who thought we still had a real news corp left in this country the leading question asked by the "reporter" to Obama says it all. I only heard the question once last night and can't find it anywhere today, but to parpahrase "Given that Donald Trump is a mentally unstable loose cannon, shaves cats in his spare time, and eats babies raw, do you think he is unfit to be president"

Its what they do, they have CNN helping and their affiliates at every turn, however there is a saying though protest too much.
I think liberals against trumps screwed up they pushed too hard too early and now are running out of steam, Trump has still not pulled out the big guns in his champagne, meanwhile HIlarys team is just about out of ammo. The Trump camp says they are waiting until the end of Sept and then will be pushing the airwaves. What has backfired according to latino news casters whom I spoke with say legal Hispanics are hugely in support of Trump even in Southern California there is a mass movement to shut down illegals.CNN wont report it but the latino vote is shifting big time to Trump. Getting people to share these type stories is exactly what liberals want, its wrong Intel, its unfounded. There are also very many in the black community that are sick of BLM and are voting Trump to discredit BLM. Its all propaganda on the liberal side, brought to you by the same Liberals whom said Hilary didnt lie, didnt steal and didnt violate her oath of office as SOS. Perot by the way lost because he was a independent ticket. No way with the GOP would that ever happen never has happened well in the movies. Its all just propaganda no facts or truth to any of it.

Our President will go down as the least presidential man ever to be in the whitehouse.
Sometimes I feel we would have done better electing some trailer trash into office but that would offend trailer trash comparing him to them. In all seriousness we are getting the respect about the same as we had elected a toothless homeless man into office we have no world respect and no respect for his office at home. Its quite pathetic.
I was taught respect the office held not the man holding it. This guy makes it very hard to do so.

WRT to djt's withdrawal from contention. If, as some suggest, he's deliberately set out to destroy the GOP, he can still do it easily. Simply withdraw after the last date for filing the candidacy paperwork passes. That will throw everyone and everything into a turmoil of biblical proportions. Ballots will be printed with NO Republican candidate, and we can only hope that there is a successful write in campaign. Ycck. What a mess.

If Trump drops out it won't matter who the replacement is, they will lose.

From the looks of it, there's not a lot of chance of Trump winning unless he stops taking the bait and getting sidetracked with small fry like the Khans. So far he just can't help himself. He's quickly becoming Mr. Gaff.

It's looking like the worst is going to happen and there just isn't a whole lot we can do about it except vote for senators and congresscritters who still will uphold the US Constitution.

Man....Perot's 1992 and 1996 campaigns are ancient history. OMG they were well before Netscape Navigator's high water mark!

I recall Perot's bids for the Presidency, but Trump is not campaigning as an independent, and Trump has the GOP nomination in his hands. Yes, Perot achieved respectable results as an independent, but not enough to challenge the winning Democrat candidates (Clinton each time), but well enough to siphon off enough Republican votes to ensure that the GOP nominees (GH Bush in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1996) lost decisively.

I really wish Trump would shut his pie hole and stop being so reactionary to other folks attacks....he drops these stupid comments in speeches, that just gives the left plenty of ammo against him. Look at how hillary is doing it, she avoids the media like the plague and her numbers go up....Donny should take a cue or two from that example. As she said, he can be baited with a simple Tweet.... and it is true. He needs to ignore the petty attacks from the two-bit attack dogs nipping at his heel's trying to get him to say stupid comments..... Many folks would appreciate him more if he just kept his fire power aimed at hillary, barry and the lefts platform IMO.

It's all noise and distraction, lies and manipulation. I'll vote for the hair weave king by default but I don't think we've had an honest election in years. If he somehow miraculously wins, we're in for an interesting and hopefully positive ride. If the beast wins, the Beast wins.
