However unlikely it may seem, whenever there is an unpopular law passed, someone benefits. This is the first rule of business and law; who benefits? Now ask yourself who could possibly be benefitting from all these new proposed gun laws? We already know that they don't make you safer or less likely to become a victom. We can assume the firearms manufacturers, gun Shops, ammunitions manufacturers and dealers loose big. The ordinary citizeen looses liberty and gains nothing. The police-state is furthered a bit but I still don't see that as being beneficent. Politicians do not benefit, as was shown to them after the last assault weapons ban. As much as I can see, there is only one group that benefits from this; the gun lobby, or more specifically, the NRA. The NRA will get millions upon millions of donations with every new law passed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm starting to understand how the NFA was allowed to transmorgrify into what it is today.[soap]

.gov has just as much to gain with all those new jobs that'll be needed to enforce and incarcerate the newly created felons in society.....

While they would benifit from them (especialy if they are proposed heavy then toned down a bit) the ones I see benifiting most would be international and foriegn governments. International government wants to have free reign to controle the US and its resources. Its well known that dealing with us with a heavy hand will get resistance and resistance from those who are armed and COULD offer a substantial resistance is a prospect they dont like and so want us disarmed so they gain power. Foriegn govs would be in basicly the same position. So while the gun lobby gains from proposed and largely defeated gun laws with just enouph passed to keep folks aware they are looseing them, international and foriegn governments are the true benificiaries of gun laws.

I don't see how foriegn governments are affected by us having guns or not. There are gonna be more police anyway because big government has to either grow or perish. I still say that the only ones truly proffitting are the NRA. and they make more when a gun law passes than they do when it fails.

I figure that international governments namely the UN benifits since they can then have the ability to enforce their will on us more readily. They have had resolutions they havebeen working on makeing happen for the last 10 years or more that I know of to get guns out of private hands world wide. On an international level the NRA is meaningless so who benifits from that if not international government seeking a one world government?

I used to have a link to the UN resolution to remove all 'small arms' from private ownership and it explained this included ALL firearms and even bows and such but I lost the link after a computer crash several years ago.

I posted this before. I firmly believe the benefit is to the .gov in the longrun as it begins to fear the growing wrath of the people:

When you screw the people often enough, you grow to fear their righteous retribution, and, in the end, the way you deal with that fear is not eliminate its cause, but to eliminate its ability to become a reality.

The benefit lies in the peaceful disarming of the populace which will allow for the gradual slide away from a capitalistic society to a socialist "french" style goverment of major redistribution. There can't be any Boston Tea Parties without guns today!

    NO!!
