6 mil in 19 hrs.... Where is the press?

It's just after 7 pm and we've had a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party with a Big Blimp flying overhead and over 6 million dollars raised without a single cent from lobbyists.

I've been watching the news..... not a frickin mention...... nothing.

Edited.... I got the numbers wrong, sorry.

It will be hard to ignore him if he continues to raise money like this. Doesn't it take like $200-$300 mil to even think about having a chance at running for the Presidency?

I wouldnt expect to really see much untill Monday when the totals will be in and they can se what it totaled up to. I still dont figure the MSM will give him the attention he deserves but it should at least get a few sound bites and may get him a bit more intrest from them, the main thing is that given his shrewdness and ability to strech a dime into a dollar it will get a lot more add time and phone calls and such.

I was logged into www.ronpaulforums.com all day. They had a sub forum set up just to watch the Tea Party activities. It was really exciting. They set a record for most ever online over 3000. Towards midnight EST the RP website and "widget" counter crashed.
The one day total which is BS because it was actually a weekend total but nonetheless MSM credited Hitlary with 6.2 Million. We broke that record at 23:30 +/- hrs.
Also they have a radio station that I didn't know about. 24/7 RP news via internet radio. I was listening to that and they were haveing reports from the Boston event and othersw around the country. I will have to look up the link. www.rprradio.com

All in all was a fun and exciting day. Now let's see if the MSM ignores it. So far nothing this morning.
CNN has short bit on it. Calling him the 6 million dollar man.
So far nada on Faux News. If you still think that they are "Fair and Balanced" you're blind!!

I thought it was tomorrow, the 18th? Maybe they moved it up?
Do they have a schedule on the website?

BTW FNC has finally acknowledged it. But said the most of any Repub. candidate. No mention of beating Kerry and Hillary's records.

Another BTW. The total for the day was 6.3 mil. The 18 million total is for the quarter, including the Nov. 5th money bomb.
The beginning total as of 11:59 Saturday night was $11,551,156. Th ending at 11:59:59 Sunday was 17,909,+ according only to me. The official tally may be different.

Also there are reports this morning that the crash of the widgit board on RP's site was caused by hackers.

CNN's been doing a lot of stories on it. "The Situation Room" had probably one of the best pieces I have seen in MSM. Cafferty was in awe and had some good things to say about RP and his supporters.

    These are from RP's website;

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Following its historic fundraising day on December 16th, Ron Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder issued the following statement:
"There is an unprecedented outpouring of grassroots support for Dr. Paul. The message of freedom is powerful and uniting people across America. And, Dr. Paul is the only candidate offering real solutions to the issues Americans care about, with the record to back it up.
"Americans are sick and tired of our broken borders and they know the other candidates are not serious about illegal immigration. Dr. Paul has proposed serious and substentative legislation to fix our immigration problems once and for all.
The $6 million one-day total means the campaign has raised over $18 million this quarter, far exceeding its goal of $12 million.
"Finally, as Americans see the value of their dollar plummet, they know Dr. Paul has devoted his political career to stopping the inflation that makes it impossible for middle-class families to get ahead. Only Dr. Paul has a plan to cut spending, balance budgets and take care of people who have become dependent on government programs.
"Americans spoke loud and clear on December 16th. They want Dr. Paul's solutions."
Candidate has most successful fundraising day in American political history

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA -- Congressman Ron Paul’s presidential campaign had a record fundraising day yesterday.
In a 24-hour period on December 16, the campaign raised $6.026 million dollars, surpassing the one-day record of $5.7 million held by John Kerry.
During the day, over 58,000 people contributed to Dr. Paul’s campaign, including 24,940 first-time donors. Over 118,000 Americans have donated to the campaign in the fourth quarter.
The $6 million one-day total means the campaign has raised over $18 million this quarter, far exceeding its goal of $12 million.
"We have the right message: freedom, peace and prosperity," said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "We also have the right candidate: Dr. Ron Paul."
Congressman Paul will be campaigning in Iowa today and will be holding a press conference at 12:45 pm at the Des Moines Marriott in the Des Moines Room.
