Before my step dad passed away he made out a list of what he wanted us kids to have. He didn't leave us a big estate, not land nor money, but he did leave me some cool stuff. When going through the big wooden ammo box I gave him years ago that he called his war locker, there was lots of good stuff. About 150 rounds of .556/.223, a couple of boxes of .270, .357 Mag. and .38 special hollowpoints, A box of 7.65 Argentine, couple of boxes of 30-30, bunch of 12 and 20 gauge, and assorted other shells. Lots of traps and snares, a couple of saddles and tack, tools, and of course the firearms. He had already given me a double barrel 12 gauge with exposed hammers, a 94/22 Winchester, and when he passed here recently he also gave me his Ruger Blackhawk, Winchester 30-30, Springfield 03' converted to .270, Interarms .223, 7.65 Argentine, and a few other assorted firearms I know I am forgetting about. A couple of scopes, his Nikon that I gave him, and his game call that was a present one Father's Day. Mostly what you would call Cowboy stuff, which is exactly what he was. This weekend I actually have the whole weekend off, and I am going to catalog the serial numbers, clean the guns and saddles, and hang up the snares and traps. I am also planning on building a couple of saddle cradles tomorrow so the saddles will have a proper place. It will be a weekend full of rememberance.

    E.L.,
Sorry for your loss. One of the hardest things is to go through your loved ones stuff. I know I just went through this in July with my dad.

You sound like you will have many fond memories, keep them close.

Can't wait to see the list of what you got.
