In case there is a power outage and you want a simple lantern, these little things work well. I like to also store up oil lanterns, but these candle lanterns called out to me one day and I wanted to see if I could bring them into my preps somehow.

I must admit, I don't really have any complaints. It's small, so I can use it where I often can't use an oil lantern. It's light and simple, and no risk of spilling fuel. All around, it's not a bad little lantern for emergencies.

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

Would a regular votive type candle fit in that? I scored a box of 100, 15 hour votives at a garage sale the other day... they'd gotten them for a wedding that never happened, oops.

You could recast the wax into candles the right size and shape. Just need to make a mould from one of the original candles.

    The candles for these lanterns measure 1.2" x 3.3" (or 30mm x 84mm)

Had similar candle lanterns to this, when I lived in Guam, and dealt with post-typhoon lack of power. The ones I had, though, were collapsible, so when you didn't need to use them, they took up half the space. Can't remember where I got them from (20+ years ago, now), but they were similar to these, on Amazon. Which reminds me.....
