Seems it was 1 guy and the undercover agents...seen this kinda thing before...I'm not sayin' he wouldn't done it as a cell of 1, but this kinda stuff is hardly worth my 1st, 4th,and5th amendment rights

Stereo speakers for grenades and a handgun. What a bargain. Idiot.

I just learned something, difference between a grenade and a wmd is most likely the same as in real estate.... Location, location, location.

I don't care if this kid was a terrorist in training, a picked on kid that had enough, or just some dumb clown that spent too much time playing video games, glad he's getting taught a lesson.

The idea, like I have said before but perhaps too many people have missed it -is for governments all over the world to begin convicting people of "terrorist acts", no matter the offense just as long as they can get it engrained in the minds of the masses that it this whole campaign is not for show.Gradually, like always, more rights will be slowly replaced with privileges. This is'nt really because the 'government' is getting too out of control, it's because the people are asking for it. With every "bad guy" that gets convicted of a terrorist act, legislation like the Patriot Act is calcified even more. With every cry for added safety (safety which only government can provide) comes fewer responsibilities for the average citizen to protect and defend his or her own families, town, and State. The people, in the end will accept martial law with thunderous applause. And that is quite possibly the future our children will have to live with.

They forgot to point out that the only way the guy was actually able to secure the grenades was through the FBI sting.

Is the guy an idiot, yes. Was the guy dangerous, probably. Would he have been able to pull off a grenade attack at the mall, I have my doubts.

It's not entrapment to provide the means to commit a crime,as long as you don't provide the idea....

No, I'm not saying it was entrapment, I'm saying what we're his chances of actually finding and buying grenades? You can't just pick those up at Wal-Mart. As many gun nuts as I know, I still doubt that I could ever come up with hand grenades.

I don't know, maybe it's easier to get them than I realize.

Grenades would be alot more fun than Tannerite, propane tanks or acetylene bombs [booze]
sarcastic statement: nothing to do with bombing buildings or intending harm upon others

Duh? [own2] Idiot is owned for trying to buy grenades

So you're saying that an attack using tannerite, propane tanks or acetylene bombs would be as lethal as hand grenades?

    I gotta disagree here.... strongly.

First of all, you'd have to place the tannerite and propane tanks, then shoot them from a distance. Acetylene bombs you have to light and then hope they stay lit while you deliver them to the target. You might get a few people, but nothing compared to the level of casualties you could inflict with grenades.

Not to mention someone walking into a mall with a couple of propane tanks under his coat looks a little funny.

I've used acetylene for recreation, and hand grenades while in the Army, there is absolutely no comparison.

Abdul headed to the mall with acetylene or propane doesn't scare me much.

Abdul with hand grenades is god awful deadly.

There are good reasons soldiers are issued grenades and not propane cannisters.

The problem is Blackjack that while you are correct as to the availability of grenades , if this had been an inventive person "or simply one with some common sense" he could have made some small explosives that would have been far more deadly than a few grenades in trash cans .

I didn't know until after the Oklahoma bombing that the U.S. Agricultural department had been teaching farmers to make fertilizer bombs to remove stumps from fields for plowing since the early 1900's with booklets and even a video .

I don't know about you folks but these are exactly the kinds of attacks that concern me the most from the Rag Heads .

Oh I agree Big001... There are improvised munitions that would be much more effective. Your example of the OK city bombing is the perfect example.

My original problem, which I admittedly didn't illustrate well enough, was that the media made it sound like he just got some grenades and was on his way to the mall, when the fact is that he hadn't even armed himself yet.

It's like if he had said he wanted to detonate a nuke at the mall, and the FBI set him up in a sting and then reported that they stopped him from detonating a nuke at the mall. Truth is, he would have never actually been able to carry out that attack.

It is a good thing he wasn't very resourceful.

Nope, no mentioning of that at all.

C'mon. Who REALLY believes that this whole terror campaign is due to a few radical hatemongers? A few hundred? A few thousand?

Please. The informed individual knows very well who is behind modern day terrorism. Don't be scared because of some lone "raghead", be terrified that you believe in the lie and are hopelessly confused.

And if you STILL have any more doubts, just do a little research into P2OG. And then take a history lesson in Al Quada 101. The Mujahadeen was where it all started, in case you are having troubles. And it would'nt hurt researching who FUNDED them, by the way.
