Former “sheriff of the year” arrested and sent to jail named after him

SheriffSullivan. Mugshot of former "sheriff of the year" Pat Sullivan

Every civil servant wants to experience his or her legacy firsthand--but not the way that onetime Arapahoe Sheriff Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. has. Sullivan, a nationally renowned law enforcement leader, was arrested on drug charges and is now being detained in the Denver area jail that bears his name. Sullivan, who in 2001 was named the National Sheriff Association's "Sheriff of the Year," was arrested on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamines.
Local news station CBS4 began an investigation of Sullivan last month on a tip that he had agreed to meet a male informant, providing drugs in exchange for sex. He was subsequently arrested by the South Metro Drug Task Force and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
And in an incredible twist of fate, Sullivan now cooling his heels atThe Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. Detention Facility, named in his honor.
"The allegations of criminal behavior involving Pat Sullivan are extraordinarily disturbing," said Grayson Robinson, Arapahoe County's current sheriff. "While the arrest of the former sheriff is very troubling, no one, and particularly a former peace officer, is above the law. This is the most shocking thing I've ever been involved with."

Sullivan, 68, has been retired for nine years, but had been serving as director of safety and security for Cherry Creek Schools.
"This is a very sad time for the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and our community," Robinson said. The CBS4 report also found that for several years Sullivan has posted bond for multiple suspects held in drug cases at jail facilities across the state.
As recently as 2008, Sullivan was an active participant in state and local methamphetamine task forces, helping Colorado draft a plan to deal with the surge in meth-related crime.
In 1995 President Bill Clinton named Sullivan to the National Commission on Crime Prevention and Control. According to a 1995 White House news release, Sullivan was a consultant to U.S. House Subcommittee on Crime and served on two advisory councils affiliated with the Department of Justice.

Sadly, I am not surprised at all. The world is being turned upside down. America is being turned upside down. Black is white. Right is wrong. Good is Evil, etc etc etc.

Another black eye for LEO's every where and whats sad is this is not some boot that lack of training can be to blame or just a $h!thead that slipped through the cracks, this is a older veteran who is just a dirty cop and hard to tell how long he has been this way. If he did the crimes they charged him with the bastard should never see daylight. Every drug case he has been involved in can be overturned and they are back on the street.

Now there is a delicious irony

When a cop or ex cop breaks bad spectacularly....having feelings of schadenfreud about the former lawkeeper's fall to jail inmate is quite understandable. Being placed in the jail named after oneself is a rather delicious irony....therein hangs a cautionary tale for sherrifs, police chiefs and DA's....never allow a correctional facility to be named after you, that you are ever likely to be an inmate of....it may eventually lead to your own abject humilation.

It was actually Tom Martino on 630 KHOW that started the whole shebang. Been following it on that radio station, heard the first call to Tom, he set it up so that the kid could surrender and not be shot. (the kid was afeared, rightfully so).
Peter Boyles has been covering it almost everyday. 5am to 9am weekdays Denver time.

There are also questions weather Pat Sullivan gave the 'informant' HIV. Is is also 'alleged' that he took drugs into a house where 'people' were in recovery from meth, re-addicting them.....

There are receits from motels where P(O)S 'met with his uh...'friends'.....

    Just say'in....

Primary bail was set at $250.000 for Sullivan, increased to $500.000 then reduced to $50.000, he made bail. I think that they want him to dust himself or be dusted, then there is no trial.
Lotta cover ups in Denver, ie Sugars, a whore house, albeit a high dollar one.
The present mayor was a 'patron' of Sugars, not slander on my part, it has been 'proven' by his phone # and several other ways....
So sue me, but it will never happen 'cuz then the truth will come out.

    Corruption sucks.
