Picked this up today for under the truck seat. Super tiny and would make a great kit for a pack. ALso bought an assortment of other essentials for it as well. I don't fish like I used to as a kid but thought this might be a way to catch a meal if I had to.

Not a bad reel for a kit that cost under $40.

we have lots of lakes around here as well as streams ponds and creeks. Going to have to add some flys to the kit for the trout.

Been wanting a backpack kit for awile and this seemed to fit the bill

That case is about 16" long. it's pretty small

They can be nice for backpacking or just haveing fun but IMO if its for a kit the best bet would be either a net or trot line stuff. Basicly for the same reasons that a trap line beats a rifle most times for aquireing food, the traps same as a trot line can be in lots of places all at once and be there while you are doing other stuff and increase your odds of getting more food with less effort. Just my thoughts on it. but like I say those are great for keeping in a truck for those times your out and about and happen to see big old fish jumping around in the water by where youre working or whatever and just have to try and catch a couple. :D
