Hey just getting serious on prepareing for hard times,i have a well for water need ideas on best way toget water with out power, thanks.
Nice to see you here, welcome aboard. You'll find quite a bit on water and wells around the site. For specific info, knowing you have a well is not enough to point you in the right direction. Have a look around, try the search feature and see what turns up.
thanks for the info,i live in the country so lucky there.i belive things are going to collapse so I need to turn from lazy to creative, depended on Walmart to long.
The knowledge pool in the shade of the monkey tree, is both wide and deep. Come on in, the water's fine....
Welcome to the site!! Enjoy! Fire, Water, Beans, Rice (etc....), Med's, Defense, prioritize! Utilize Youtube while its available and make sure to write important stuff down for when its not!
How deep is your well? Different methods for different depths. My advice have your well and plan o using it but make sure you have a second source in mind- just in case. As @BTPost says, two is one....... So welcome to the monkey. You have come to a great place
Welcome .... I believe there was a post similar to this one a few weeks ago on here ... I say check out engineer775 on youtube and keep doing reasearch on the monkey... tons of VERY HELPFULL info here
my well is 185 ft and the water comes up 50 ft.i have thought about a 7000 w generator to run the pump we have a pond and two small streams on our property we have 60 acers half fields half woods.
welcome... depending on the flow rate (GPM) you need you might consider a solar water pump... with a manual pump as a back up....
Welcome to the monkey! Lots of options already posted, here's another. Use a cistern, or other water container and set it higher than where you are using it. Your current well pump fills the cistern, and have a backup solar pump. The back up pump need not be at the same specs as the main pump, and the cistern should contain a few days worth of water. In the event of a power failure, the cistern can gravity feed your house (you could also have an RV type on-demand water pump for increased pressure in some cases). During the day the solar pump replenishes the cistern slowly. There are many ways to tackle this.
