I don't quite get this...Is this real, or a hoax?

    Mexican police 234

Most likely true since this falls in line with several reports of the military being used in police roles recently, some times against the authority of local sheriffs and citizenry. It's kind of like springing a rubber band as far as you can a few times to see how far you can twang it until it snaps.

The reporter of that story is freelance, so he's not exactly worried about losing his job.

OK...I could even understand army being used in police functions, but using police or army from another country? Mexican cops on US streets? Is US under occupation?
So, then Chinese police will come too? US has a lot of Chinese people too...
    If it's true, I don't understand it...

A lot of our own military is comprised of Mexican "citizens" who can barely speak English. The same applies to the police in many major cities. I think the story you linked was more focused on the use of "first responder" type of emergency support that included Mexican/American crisis centers and police who are fluent in Spanish...but I don't have the details. The underlying story is what intrigued me --the use of the military in police roles.

In America, that's nothing short of an outright declaration of martial law.

What got me interested was the first few sentences...
"In a series of events which has caused wide notice and a storm of protests, the government of Mexico, through its consulate in New York in the United Nations, has announced it will begin patrolling the New York City borough of Staten Island to “safeguard” its nationals there."
I understand this like Mexico is announcing that Mexican cops will start patrolling NY to protect Mexicans...Did I got this wrong? Does it actually say something else?

I think that the consulate will be assigning roles to authorities and military already present, but if it turns out to be Mexican troops or Mexican police, it won't be pretty.

Foreign cops have NO jurisdiction here. We have had 'exchange' programs with cops of other nations 'riding along' with our cops, and ours with them, to see how the other guys do things. But those foreign cops don't have arrest powers.
I see a LOT of law suits coming if they actually do this.

On the other hand, if The First Illegal Alien in DC writes an EO giving foreign cops this overbearing power, it truly will be the end of our Constitutional Republic. When Cesar brought the barbarian mercenaries into Rome to 'police' the nation, remember how well THAT went....... maddd

    "posse comitatus" comes to mind!

Yeah, and that was essentially negated by the military and the Patriot Act. Now, it's just like nobody cares at all. Military performing police roles should not be allowed --period. I don't know, man. I just don't know...

Between the DHS and the Patriot ACT, I'm beginning to wonder...what's next?
    KGB tactics?

Oh, brother... you do know. You and I both know and so does most of the people in our bag of patriots. We know what's up.

The pathetic part is that the pols that enacted that legislation didn't know what they were doing, just following the ring in their noses.

The Posse Comitatus act is alive and well BUT: There are exceptions, notably the Insurrection Act which essentially allows the DHS to mobilize troops for law enforcement activities. The various governors can also use Nat'l Guard troops in the event of state emergencies. Law enforcement is constitutionally placed in the hands of the States, not the Federal Gov't. Quite frankly, I think that's what happened formally in the wake of Katrina. It wasn't well published, but legally, the LA governor was correct in mobilization under the Constitution. The un-constitutional acts on the streets was real, thus the outrage.

Federal emergency use has to be authorized by Congress (or otherwise by the Constitution, but I don't see how it's allowed without a perverted reading except for the state's use of NG troopers.)

The loophole that will let zero in: He gets his sycophants in Congress to declare a situation as a state of emergency so the DHS can get involved under the Insurrection Act.

Nobody can hold this government accountable anyway, Ghrit...so, laws mean nothing to them. Unless it's YOU doing something, well that's another story! We'll just fine you, imprison you, make you serve probation. take all your rights away, and turn you into a slave! The federal gov't doesn't play by the rules, and as for the "emergency" --it's been in effect since 1933 and that hasn't changed one bit. The statewide emergencies (literally thousands) only act as a buffer to create the illusion of legitimacy.

Posse Comitatus is a moot point, just like illegal taxation on wages, property tax, excise tax, licensing, registration, voting, social security, censorship, free speech zones, concealed carry permits, and anything else the People have chosen to ignore.

Try to tell a cop or an Army soldier he's breaking the law and see what happens.
