Because this would be to heavy in a rifle, so Carbine is the way maaannn. Config: Bushmaster 16" heavy barrel. Beta-Cmag, PVS-14 behind a EOTECH 552. PAQ-4 IR Laser, Shurefire M900 Foregrip flashlight, visible red laser, and a three point tactical sling. Why? Because Uncle Sugar still lets me! Eat your heart out Melbo!!!
DiD you have to go and say that S? Just when I thought I was pretty well set, You get me thinking beta C again. must....resist.......temptation. nice rig
Sweet snipe. SAM's are the rage with their 20" barrels. Its funny to watch the civ's. build their sams when just 2 or 3 years ago SPR's were the rage. Snipe... what kind fo reliability do you get with the beta. I always thougt it would be good to hand the wife an AR with a beta for all day shtf stuff(honey the front porch is your sector), but have heard good and bad. As for me I'm going 14.5. I always remind myself AR's are for light weight high fire power package. If my AR is going to weigh as much as an M1a thats what I will have. just my .02 fwiw.
The Beta in this rifle is my trustworthy one, it has LEO only marked on it. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't want to hold in the well. When you insert it, you gotta make damn sure it is locked or else it will make your toes hurt really bad! As for the barrel, I have found the extra 1.5" is worth the money, very accurate barrel. It will shoot as well as my 20" As for the weight, it is a heavy beast with all that crap and ammo on it, but for the first 100 rounds, ain't nothing going to get away! This config with a small bipod on it, ain't much going to cause it problems! Melbo, I can only say one thing, "follow the light" don't resist, it will only make you tired!
Sniper-66, that is one SEXY rig. How well does the EOtech work with the PVS? I have been thinking about adding the same setup to my "about to be ordered" Fulton. I really like the 16 inch barrels, they are just so handy. I had one on my Shorty Bushy. I have a 20 inch heavy barrel on my DPMS "Classic" and it shoots well. However, carrying it all day walking up and down in the hill country is not a whole lot of fun. I like the lighter ones.
How about this for an answer: The reticle was on the dog, but you couldn't see the reticle very well in the picture because it was to bright. Cameras don't caputre NVD images as well as you see them, so I had to take another picture a little lower in the dark area to make it show up in the picture. If you look close enough, you will see a dark ring in the middle of the picture, that is the hood of the EoTech. The 552NV is excellent, wouldn't use anything else with NV now. I like my Trijicon Reflex II, but for quick aquisition, can't beat the EoTech.
That is a sweet rig I thinking for my AR's I need the M-203 style set up for a head turner, and it looks cool Then the A3 Pimp Sniper-66 style
That is awesome. Thanks for the pic. Really clear. What generation is the NV? I think we need a new section to the forum. "Pimp my rifle" modded by the ultimate AR Pimps Sniper-66 and Melbo.
Would a guy who Flys helicopters at night using an ANVIS goggle rig use anything but GenIII or better? You only cry once. Well, twice if you happen to buy a second one
. OK. Pimp mine. Basic black WR carbine on order, with folding irons and that is all so far. Consider money as a critical concern, make a list from first must haves thru the really expensive, high tech, trick stuff. "The Plan" is for fun, domestic defense, SHTF. in that order. Can't help but think there are some variations of opinion, all ideas more than welcome.
I agree with the priorities ghrit I'd be sick if all I did was SHTF planning. Make it fun and daily usable first, then make it also fit the long term goal you have.
That pic was so cool. Take more.......take more. Even my wife thought it was really cool. Looks like I am going to have to start saving up, or start selling off some excess.
Sorry boys and girls, no more pictures today, just got done flying three hours under goggles and am really sick of them right now. Tomorrow, I will dig some more pictures out and post them if I can.
Well Phishi, in a galaxy far far away.... wrong story. Back before the weapon in the pictures above was mature, that is what I carried on this weapon. Here is a picture of the weapon in it's original configuration. Worked really well and I liked the fact that I didn't have to turn the Trij on when I needed it. Here is a picture taken through the NVD with the Trij For all you tree huggers out there, no, I don't unnecessarily shoot trucks, this was a demonstration only, no trucks were hurt in the production of this post!
