    Cops Bust Worst Counterfeiters Ever

There's funny money, and there's extremely funny money.

Police in Twin Falls, Idaho, have almost $1 billion in fake money locked up in their evidence room — but it's not taking up that much space because the face value of every bill is $1 million, according to The Times-News.

Baffled and bemused cops seized 999 bills — one short of $1 billion — after a man from Buhl attempted to deposit them at a bank as collateral for a loan.

"It would have been remarkable if anyone would have accepted them as legitimate," interim Police Chief Jim Munn told The Times-News. "This is just absolutely comical."

Detective Sgt. David Heidemann said the counterfeit cash, printed to resemble the "horse blanket" silver certificate notes issued in 1923, was made in the United Kingdom, Canada or Nigeria.

Heidemann told The Times-News that the slightly washed-out phony bills were "actually better quality than we normally see on counterfeit notes."

Gee, and I get a funny look every time I try to use a $2 bill!

Ya, I remember that lady at WallyWorld.

Ya know if I was going to counterfeit something, why not just do a bunch (ya it would take a lot) of $1 and $5 bills (or for that matter $2 bills :) )?

No I'm not advocating counterfeiting, but just saying, aren't there more $1's and $5's in circulation than any other denomination?

The smartest counterfit deal I heard about was some guys that printed loads of 1's 5's and I think maybe some 10's then took them to car washes, laundrymats and so on and put them in the change machines and got the quarters for them then took all the quarters and cashed them in at banks. Lets face it if you had a few vending machines to explain the tons of change it would be near impossible to trace...except that everythings on camera now days.

Ryan? I used to be in banking..and had access to lots of $2 bills..and the Susan B Anthony dollars...

I had to explain almost every time that yes..that is a dollar..and yes..there are $2 bills...

Now I just keep them locked up ...for when I need them....
