I love when I see a head line that uses absolutes like "All", "Everything", "Never"
It lets me know right off the bat that the author either is an idiot or trying to convince me of something.

Yep....like stocking up on mint condition plugged nickels as a hedge against global financial disaster. The plugged nickels they are offering of course are at a very reasonable price.

No, like ammunition. The supply is limited and prices just keep going up.

You can't ever have enough ammo, or the components to load it. I truly believe that. Everyone has budget concerns, but to me if you can't keep it, what's the point in prepping to begin with?

An old working buddy of mine's favorite expression, in order to create a sense of panic, used to be "Everything is all f'd up".

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

At the moment, as always, the world is experiencing a series of rolling SHTFs. Brazil, for example, is in the worst economic depression since the 1930s--as evidenced by the cancellation of this year's Carnivale. (Things have to be pretty bad when the parties get cancelled.)

Likewise, Germany, England, France, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, and Norway (and others) are under assault by Islam and there is violence in the streets that may spiral out of control.

Meanwhile Yellowstone is getting ready to pop like a zit, Los Angeles may burn to the ground if that runaway methane leak gets ignited, and the Tenth Planet (Janet!) had just been rediscovered, which means that is may be heading our way (again) to destroy every civilization on Earth (again).

And, oh yes: the Pacific Ocean has become a wet radioactive desert courtesy of the Japanese, and Japan itself is in the irreversible process of ceasing to be a nation. That is a process that most of the Japanese citizenry will not long survive.

Whatever is a girl to do?

I visualize the present as a high speed auto crash wherein a car-full of people is rolling and tumbling across six lanes of oncoming traffic and
    a) no one has a seatbelt on, and
    b) all the windows are open.

The SHTF for each occupant is the moment they get flung out a window. Then it's up to Fate to decide whether they get run over by a Mack truck or a Western Union boy delivering telegrams on a bicycle.

    (Ding-Ding!)

Fortunately, many of the occupants are preppers: they have aspirin and band-aids at home.

I read about the methane leak in CA. Seems like a big safety concern and due to CA strict environmental laws, it seems that IMO it is a battle between keeping the environment safe vs. keeping the people safe. I know they wanted to burn it off but that is a no-no in CA.

I know they discovered Planet Nine (or had evidence of) but hadn't heard of 10. Sometimes I think those people make an announcement to get funding so they can get a grant to keep their jobs. Sounds harsh and negative but the Planet nine was all a big assume as I read it.

Have you NOTICED, that NONE of the MSM, has ever said, or even Hinted, that, ALL this Methane (a MAJOR GreenHouse Gas) has had ANY Impact on "Global Warming" or "Climate Change"... One would think ALGORE would be all over this, and having Daily Riots, to PROTEST, this disaster..... I mean REALLY, NOT ONE WORD.....

Well just think how bad the methane would be if the buffalo weren't wiped out by market hunters 150 years ago.

    chelloveck Diabolus Causidicus

No net savings in methane...Burping and farting Bison be replaced by burping and farting domesticated cattle, though wiping out the buffalo herds surely led to a substantial reduction in the number of burping and farting native American Indians.

No money in it for him, so it doesn't exist. Gore should start with is own mansion that uses enough energy to power a small city and his constant private jet flights IF he really believed his BS AND gave a damn.

Well I am sure of two things. A new fuel has been introduced made from sand. Big oil is once again driving down prices to drive it out of business. They did the same thing with other energy sources. Oil is still in control of the world. Second , the Global economy was bound to fail and it is failing . I think that the signing of the T.P.P. was part of the cause of China going belly up as this deal brings Vietnam into the W.T.O. and many companies are already moving from China to Vietnam as the wages there are even lower. China's wages were rising and now they will have to lower wages or lose corporations. China is around 2.00 an hour now Vietnam labor is between .30 and 80 cents an hour. Almost slavery as we knew it 200 years ago. I have never supported it anyway so good riddance. Time to pull it all in(our assets) pay our damned bills and protect our own people. Like it or not Hillary is finished, Sanders is not electable and Trump is going to be the next President . I can only pray he takes a constitutional champion like Rand Paul as his running mate. However we have to get to JANUARY OF 2017 first. All I see on face book is TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP. He was not my first pick but the country is falling in behind him now. He brings fear to established globalist as he vows to redo all of the trade deals. This most likely will get him killed, most likely just after he wins the nomination. Then by some convention the .R.N.C. will install Bush. I am stocking everything deep right now.

Kingfish, you said "Signing the TPP,... China is around 2.00 an hour now Vietnam labor is between .30 and 80 cents an hour. Almost slavery as we knew it 200 years ago. I have never supported it anyway so good riddance." You never supported the TPP, China, Vietnam or slavery? I'm just wondering as I keep hearing of "slave reparations" and my Great grandfather was brought here as a slave and I was hoping to get some free gov't money! Where does the gov't get it? Ize don'ts know, as longs as they gives it to me!

Of course I never slaughtered any buffalo, had slaves (speaking of which, did you see the publishers of the kids book "George Washington's Birthday Cake" was pulled by the publisher - not libraries, the publisher - because the darkies didn't look too happy, or at least not PO'ed enough? You can't make this stuff up!) or killed Indians, which were busy killing OTHER Indians (I am a full member of the Little Shell tribe, so don't give me a load of BS about Indians) and the Indians had killed off the ones before them! Of course the moslems are coming in and killing us, but I digress. My point, and I really do have one, is why do the people who take no responsibility for their children NOW, and don't care, but some how I am suppose to care about what happened 200 years ago.

A straw man argument. I didn't suggest that you personally slaughtered buffalo, had slaves or killed Indians; and even if you had, it doesn't change the facts that I outlined in my post https://www.survivalmonkey.com/threads/everything-is-falling-apart-everywhere.54637/#post-405717 . George Washington's Birthday Cake is a red herring. My post was not politically correct....it is based on historical fact (well, perhaps reference to "burping and farting" native Americans may have been more for rhetorical effect than strict historical accuracy ).

You are correct in that native American Indians did engage in inter tribal warfare with each other over aeons of time. However, it also has to be said, that they did not engage in this activity on the kind of industrial scale and methodology that typified the "Pale Faces' " approach to warfare. Government policy at various levels facilitated the wholesale destruction of the plains Indian's staple food supply by "Market Hunters" (among other stratagems), resulting in the subjugation of the plains Indians as a consequence of their virtual starvation. Destroying the plains Indian's way of life by forcing them to concentrate on "reservations" and rely on government rations for sustenance, accelerated the cultural genocide of the Indians. In what way is this BS???

Indeed you do...Moslems have nothing to do with Buffalo methane production in the USA, nor the history of the near extinction of the American Bison.

[QUOTE="Legion489, post: 405801, member: 6170 ] "...My point, and I really do have one, is why do the people who take no responsibility for their children NOW, and don't care, but some how I am suppose to care about what happened 200 years ago..."

Another red herring....Nobody is expecting you to care about anything. The point that I was making was, that the wholesale destruction of Bison, doesn't alter today's environmental problems, and that the "market hunters" you refer to were no environmental heroes. The "market hunters" merely made space available for ranchers to repopulate the West with a different breed of methane producer. The appropriation of the plains Indian's traditional range by palefaces was facilitated by (among other things) the wholesale eradication of 19th century methane producers (aka Bison).

    Sorry, had to do it.

My Smart A$$ mode switched off, there are certainly all sorts of bubbles about to burst and bursting.

Oil is certainly one that will hurt our big oil states, something the Saudi's have wanted to do for awhile, and now with the unintended help of Iran. The stock market has been artificially propped up by Team O for years now. And as metioned earlier the global economy in general is FUBAR.

I myself am restocking my many empty fuel cans with cheap(ish) gasoline. And topping of my ammo/reloading supply now that prices are almost pre-Team O.

But regardless, even the least prepared member of a good forum like this is far more prepared than the masses. We will improvise, adapt, and overcome.
