    There is a shadow in this picture, making the knife look as though it has a "forked" tip...

    This particular style of knife is known as a dueling bowie, where the handler would hold/grasp the handle as he would a sword (thumb on top, as opposed to wrapped around).

    Knife specs are:

    * Forged from 5160 steel (full tang) by Harry McCarty at Indian Ridge Forge

    * 10 1/4" blade (tip to guard) 16" OAL

    * African blackwood scales/handle

    * Nickel/silver guard, bolsters and pins

    * Sheath/scabbord is wood with black deerhide stretched over it, and nickel/silver accents.

    I paid $400 for this one....
