Prez is behind the podium today:Iran was making a bomb, Iran stopped making a bomb, Iran could make a bomb in the future.
    (nothing has changed)..

Seems to me we've seen this dance before.:(

OK I'm knocking the prez. ( see if this turns into 6pages of bile.)

This case, I have to defend bushie, he went with the best scoop and advice he had at the time. Too bad it was wrong, but seems it was. I wonder who should get bashed for allowing the intel network to die?

Ghrit, did you see ush this morning on his speech? As much as I dislike him I could agre that IF we assume the intel he had leading up to the stuff in Iraq was the same as what he told us then it needed to be acted on and regardless that once we went in we needed to finish what we started, BUT from his speach today he seemed to acknowledge that they stoped their nuck program in 03 but was still of the stand that that didnt change anything and we still needed to go after them because they thought about makeing one and might have a program again some day if we dont do something to them.

Im not a fan of Iran and figure they are worth keeping eyes on to be sure we know where their hands are so to speak and that they arent ready to coe at us but the last thig we need at this point is to CREATE another fight we dont have to deal with. Bush seems to still be trying to push us into a fight with Iran because some day they might have a nuclear program because they had one then stopped it. I wouldnt be able to go that far, and Im even one that I could understand and to a point support takeing over oil rich nations and takeing their oil based on the idea that OIL is a national security issue since without it our nation as we know it collapses but if thats the intention they need to be blunt about it and NOT try going in under a BS excuse.

Nope, it seems he knew 2 months before he made the speech about the specter of WWIII that the intelligence community was working on new intel. Just heard it on the news.

Well just like he was warned by the CIA that the previous intel about WMD was unreliable. But he still gave that "WE HAVE PROOF" speech.

So,... what ? we had the proof but accidentaly misplaced it ? We had the proof but the bad guys took it back ?

Tango is right it's the same old song and dance. This time though we all know he's just a cheap liar.

No he's a lying SOB and I'm ashamed he represents the United States.

I'm still pissed a respected general (colin powell) stood before the un showing drawings of suspected wmd rv labs andhi tech aluminum tubes. You could tell watching him he was talking about something even he barely believed. I was unsure about going into iraq until powell stoodup andsaid we gotta go and soon. Of course this stuff ( 90's iraqi wmd)may be under tarps in damascus...to this day.

I don't like to get into this bashing of Bush because many of you will never know how deep this rabbit hole goes. I would like y'all to do something, go into Google and type the word Al Muthana Chemical Complex. The very first item is very informative. I can guarantee you it's real because I flew past it probably 20 times. I can also tell you there was another complex to the north of this one that has completely removed from the face of the earth, so much so that the concrete foundations have not only been dug up, but the concrete hauled off.
I will also tell you that there are things that I can't even talk about and I am sure that there are things that no one will ever know. If you think Al Muthana is the limit of Saddam's quest for killing people on a large scale, I can tell you the sand in Iraq is good for you to bury your head in, because that man was pure evil. His bedroom had a huge mural of SCUD missiles being launched enmasse on Isreal.
As for the nuclear side of the house, I am going to put my tin foil hat on for a second, Isreal launches a controversial mission into Syria that mirrored the bombing of the Iraqi nuclear facility, kills Syrians, Iranians, and who knows who else and not one word of condemnation? Hmmmm?
You can call Bush whatever you want, I'm not overly pleased with him, but I support him on this issue, I believe that there were things there that we will peons will never find out, but it is in our national interest to keep it underground so that we can some day go after it. There is a lot of proof out there that Damascas has much of Saddams program, but it isn't in our interest yet to say that globally. The day of reckoning will come and many of you will go, "No Sh*t, really?"
