I stumbled onto this thing in a junk drawer and have no idea where it came from. It's black cord, mildly elastic and has magnetic fasteners on the ends. I was looking for a dummy cord to attach my cigar punch, stylus, AR front sight tool, and a very light weight bottle opener/LED flashlight combination to my cargo pocket snap. This cord has far more potential than I initially realized. It's kept all my junk attached to my pocket for months now, like any dummy cord would. With the magnet, it also retrieves dropped bolts that have fallen into an inaccessible part of a car. It's quick to attach around your neck if you need the flashlight ready for action. The magnet fastener makes it easy to isolate and remove or replace one item on the cord. It's a junk drawer win-win.
Yes, it will, but with this one, only after the elastic has reached the end of its stretch. I find it interesting that it's never come open and dumped all my stuff off the end.
I have a band like that but mine is leather. It has the magnetic clasps. The clasps have a notch to lock it in but the magnet is strong.
I use these, first discovered them at the construction supply stores, great for securing power cords, air hoses, ext. neat thing is they come in all sorts of useful sizes, are reusable, and have a long useful life! I even keep packages of them in my cars, boat, and airplane, just in case!
