This is the one I took 42 years ago .
I like many of you here didnt leave it behind when I left the Army .
As far as I'm concerned this oath still holds true for me and many others .
So they can call me what they feel comfortable with but I know what I am ,

an AMERICAN down to the marrow of my bones !

 

And no matter how many times I hear " we won"( "we get to do what we want") "get over it!"; I want to remind folks we are not a democracy but a constitutional republic just because the dems are in the white house ; they don't get to change our form of government.

Has anyone confirmed this is real? A picture of a guy in dress blues with a skeletar mask just does not do it for me.

Everything he says about the govt. is how it is suppose to be, but I wonder how many in the .mil are aware that confiscating guns from American Citizens is an unlawful order?

The NG in Katrina didn't seem to mind.

I'm hopeful that even a minority of service men would demand truth, but I don't see but a handful willing to ask if their commander in chief is even eligible to issue them orders, let alone determine for themselves if they are lawful ones or not.

Yes it does matter. Unless the majority of the military know what constitutional rights the people they are suppose to protect are, they will violate them in favor of obeying an order from a superior, i.e. NG in Katrina.

When I was in the Corps. 25 years ago, I doubt even 10% of my fellow grunts (myself included) would put my neck on the line for a civilian I didn't know verses my LT telling me what to do.

We are not talking about a My Lai, but confiscating firearms seems pretty easy for military to justify even if its a "soldier safety" reason.

Its good to see one guy has his brain engaged but like I said, you have SERIOUS reason to doubt the POTUS is not even eligible and there are less than 500 servicemen even willing to ask the question.

Does not give me a warm fuzzy that the men in uniform are willing to protect my rights over obeying orders.

 

Would they fire on their mother, brother, aunt, cousin , neighbor etc.... That is the real concern! I talk to guys younger than me in the services and they are pretty locked on. I ask them to talk to their boys and discuss these concerns. The boys coming home from Iraq and Afghan want and deserve to keep their weapons. They have active friends too!

 

Did they in the first civil war this country had?

 

Interesting point no doubt, men back then had two different beliefs. I have yet to meet a Military man nor woman who thinks that citizens should not have guns though. Maybe someone needs to post this on a military forum as a question.
