Anybody else see this last night?

I love Ron Paul..... he's the only chance we have left, but unfortunately, the sheeple aren't smart enough to understand him, and last night was the perfect example. The panel couldn't understand, freedom and liberty was too far outside their reality for them to grasp what he was saying.

I'm afraid there really is no hope left.

Sorry Blackjack I completely disagree with your assessment of Ron Paul .

The guy is a libertarian Isolationist plain and simple and while I agree that America shouldn't be running around playing policeman we simply can't withdraw to within our own borders in a Global economy .

Our National fuel situation alone makes this completely imposable since we refuse to put our best and brightest on the task of coming up with alternatives to oil .

I have watched several video clips of Paul , in one he is asked about the use of Nuclear weapons his response was that if someone like the Soviets fired an ICBM at us he thought it would be justified in responding with nukes . Thought !!! For someone who wants to be the President this is a completely unacceptable position to me .

Paul is now 71 years old , the country wont elect him purely on that factor alone as he will be 72 or 73 when he would take office or shortly thereafter .

We need a candidate with strong Name recognition "they are after all running against a Clinton and her name recognition alone makes her dangerous" and a strong platform that he doesn't waver from "as most of the front runner are doing and have done" I think Fred Thompson would be our best shot at a strong conservative in the white house .

Time , money and energy spent on Ron Paul is nothing more than a complete waste just as it was when he tried in 88 .

newt gingrich is the best name and alternative. Fred Thompson is still an unknown in most circles...I didn't know who he was and that he was an actor/politician.

What would we get with Ron Paul...a president that is so far to the right that we would end up right of the middle on issues and that is better than our current course of left and moving more left.

Yep. But it will never happen. Like Blackjack says folks don't understand him. Freedom and liberty as defined in the Constitution is beyond most folks grasp.

But it's all smoke and mirrors anyway. It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always gets re-elected.

MM, you are a cynic. Be an optimist (like Tracy.) We have two viable candidates, even if the odds are long against. Think Ron Paul and Fred Thompson.

Cynic is one of the nicer things I've been called. The way I look at it is that there are two trains, both heading for the same destination. One just gets there faster than the other. So does it really make a difference which one you ride on?

Now I'm being a pessimist. I would like to live in Tracy's sunshiny world but I've been around the block too many times.

But I think that if he runs, I would probably vote for Fred Thompson instead of "throwing away" my vote on a dark horse or a third party candidate. But he's the only one that I would vote for. It sure as heck aint going to be Gulliani (?), Romney, McCain or anyone else who is out there right now.

I watched it. He had good answers even though Maher gave weird questions. He's got my vote. Tancredo would be second. After this vote I'll no longer do it . If he doesn't win, the rest is futility.

I really like Ron Paul, but with 3% support he has no chance. If Thompson runs he will get my vote, otherwise I have no idea which way to go. Possibly Newt if he enters the race.
