    Remember Ol' Yeller?

That is very tragic....rabies is a preventable disease...pre, and post exposure. Fortunately Australia is rabies free...thus far, due to very strict quarrantine enforcement. As I understand it, there are some areas of the USA were rabies is a risk.

My knowledge and understanding of rabies started when I saw the film, "Old Yeller" as a youngster. I was determined not to catch rabies so that my parents would not be forced to shoot me. As it happened, there have been many occasions when my parents would have happily shot me...rabies or not.
