@Hanzo and I were talking about this company and their products... Here's my shop (wear it while I'm grinding and forging) to keep dust, debris and hot stuff off my head) / outdoor hat... Cotton and brass... wears like iron and cool as heck... Get's a bit dirty though so it was time for a wash (it was starting to gross even me out :0)... Before and after shots.... These are a bit pricey... but for the quality... it's worth every penny in my humble opinion... can't remember the number of times it's gotten dirty or smelly and I've washed it by throwing it in the old maytag :0) Hope this helps anyone looking for a great hat (I've got a bunch of them in different colors... natural is my fave) Bear
Worn some very similar, but in camo greens. soft cap in the bush cuts down on noise. Helmets are too noisy
@Mike I agree and this this is much lighter.... Got this in navy, khaki and of course natural ... got a couple natural with a dark green underbrim... love it for fishing to cut the glare off the water.. That little slit inside the hat is velcro'd and makes for great storage... also has a close cell pad so the hat floats and offers some protection when you hit your head... believe me it works well... don't ask... just take my word for it :0)
Amazon.com: tilley hats Yep, they still make 'em. ETA: See also - Amazon.com: Bluecell Tactical Head Wear/Boonie Hat Cap For Wargame,Sports,Fishing & Other Outdoor Activties (Black): Sports & Outdoors Looks like a knockoff for a tenth of the price.
Yep, I wear one under my Plastic Hardhat as a liner.... When I am out visiting a logging Operation... And on Rainy Summer Days....
I have had one for.....well, now that I think of it, it has been at least 23 years. Awesome hats. Pricey, but like all the Tilley stuff, washing directions are "give it hell"
I ordered two of them.... thanks for the link @ghrit !! A person can never have to many hats, especially functional ones like these...!!
Sorry, Have never seen one down here, I'm pretty sure if I wore one I would get laughed at. I don't know how else to explain my lack of culture.
I've had a green Tilley of the same model for approximately 4+ years. It's my hunting/fishing/gardening/lawn mowing hat. It's taken a slight fade, but I dig it....keep the sun and rain off. I recently saw some at Gander Mountain in Multicam if you are in to that.
