This is a knife i worked on with some other makers. I did the carving and engraving portion. The outstanding Damascus was made by Ricardo Vilar. His knives cut well and over the years ive bought 4 from him. Its going up on auction. There is a 10k bid on it at this point.
Wheww,, 10 gs ,,, That's just a little outside of my knife budget . Don't get me wrong here ,, but I can't even imagine putting that kind of money into a knife ,, but I'd sure love to hold and check one out . Good luck on the auction ,, and don't forget to let us know how much it actually sells for. You certainly do have a talent there .
I find the patterns on these blades are just beautiful...must take a lot of work. You said an auction. Is this a specific knife auction that held annually and where?
Once a year these particular makers make a knife together. We are all instructors for the James Black school of knifemaking and historical trades. James Black is known to have made a bowie knife for Jim Bowie. We use the money to promote and run our annual festival where we have a little knife show, state cutting competition etc. Etc. Washington Arkansas. This friday and saturday.
