Some of my forebears were Scots, though of the lowland variety so I have been told. I have become interested in Scottish history and culture since watching the Outlander series Outlander (TV series) - Wikipedia, based on Diana Gabaldon's saga of the same. name. The highland Scots were a hardy lot who had to contend with a very austere environment with the minimum of equipment and necessities. We could well learn from some of what we might in the present consider improvisations, which to them, were a way of life.

There a number of other YouTube clips on the Fandabi Dozi channel, well worth a look at.
