I'm probably more familiar with the conservative looking down the nose tribe here than 'liberals'. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with being a deplorable commoner....nothing that couldn't be fixed with the judicious use of a whack-a-mole mallet. Unfortunately few mallets are up to the task. ;)

I'm going to say this because it needs to be said.

This is the kind of post that needs to be restricted. It's a post with no solution or no reason why they are looking at this article from another site. It has no analysis or reasoning wy @deMolay thought this was important and just repost another opinion.

THIS IS A SHEEP POST [sheep][sheep][sheep][sheep][sheep][sheep]because @deMolay has no solution, no reason why he thinka this is important and how it applies to survival.

Be a wolf or be a sheepdog but please stop posting crap political posts without your own thoughts an opinions. If you have nothing original to say and repost someone else's opinion you are a sheep.

Yes it is a sheep post, we have different shepherds trying to control the flock to their advantage. We went thru a period like this world wide in the early 1900's. The old order fell apart and chaos ruled. Germany ended up with Hitler, China with Mao, Russia with Stalin, Italy with Mussolini, much of the rest of the world wit no real government. In the US a "new deal" was cobbled together to prevent strife and create some sort of order, you can argue as many do, that we just kicked the can down the road and treating the basic causes is going to be harder now than in 1930. Don't know but past history has indicated that situations similar to those we face today have lead to periods of instability, in many cases millions died and nations ceased to exist. The major problem is no one really knows what the right solution, and in fact much of the problem is those with the "right" solution trying to force everyone else into compliance with their views. Since the very arguments, religion, social order, economic systems, racial interactions, are in question and there is no universal standard that is accepted by all, it can end up in a destructive situation and without major intervention it could and has destroyed not only forums but nations. But hiding in the front of the lifeboat while the riot in the back is destroying the lifeboat may not be a good solution either. Much of the discussion in the forum is based on our concepts of how to survive as individuals if the flock panics and runs off the cliff and that requires some knowledge of both the flock and the shepherd in charge. Old universal problem, which shepherd? and the ball is still in play.

I think you got the answer there. One of the problems is way to much centralization of power into the capitals of western nations. The US up until the Civil War was fairly decentralized, in fact if anyone even bothers to follow the Constitution, that is how the Founders set things up. A lot of sovereignty rested within each state. Local problems were to be solved locally. In fact the Founders were very much against the NeoCon ideas that America should be meddling in Foreign adventures.
The US left this concept behind and was led into many foreign adventures by the NeoCons and now the country is pretty much bankrupted.
And I might add a fading global power. Yes the USA is very powerful still but not like it was, Britain found out how fast an empire fades when it is bankrupted by endless war.
The global economies are breaking away from the Petro Dollar and when this is complete, the US economy will collapse like Venezuela. I think you can lay this at the feet of the NeoCons and the Socialists equally.

So no one should post any article to start a discussion as it may upset the sheep? Ha Ha Ha. Very fragile.

What about the "redistribution" of the 5 branches of U.S. Military, and who controls those division's? Whay about the arsonal of destruction? A divided nation opens things up for radicalization, one side deciding to retake the other, or one side decided to take on the Russian Federations and backs the Ukraine (smart move) or, what happens when the now divided nation must fend off the wolves across the seas? Dangerous seas says me to allow a division to happen! I only see one option and that is a total reset and a complete adjudication of our constitution as written and a reset of our political system where politicians have term limits strictly enforced, and treason against the republic is handled swiftly and permentally! Remove pay to play, and billionaires political adgenda! Total reset, or total war, nothing outside those two options can work, amd ether way, there will be blood!

The way The Founders thought of this nation was more of a "Confederation" with individual states holding power over their own issues, than a single overbearing "Federation". "One For All and All For One" is no way to run a large nation.

  9. For what my opinion is worth, I agree with Ura-ki. Division is the absolute worst thing that could happen. We need better representation in D.C. less filling of pockets there. Those we send need to remember we sent them to represent Us. not the individual wants of 600 over-paid, under worked lawmakers.

The Republic fended off wolves across the sea and boogie men from 1776 until 1945 very well. I think if all nations see that the US can very quickly wipe out anyone who bothers US shipping or US Territory they will behave. The US taxpayer has been bankrupted with never ending mostly never legally declared wars and socialism. The US Military should be used for the Defense of America and Americans. Who honestly really things that the US should be paying to protect the EU. The second largest economy in the world.

This is really nothing new - Sociologists have explored this 'cultural divide' for decades. The dividing lines change over time, but make no mistake - they exist.

Prior to the advent of National networked radio, this divide was much more marked....seen in regional dialects for the most part.

ETA - My apologies - here is an article that explains the different regions
This map shows the US really has 11 separate 'nations' with entirely different cultures
