AGM Taipan V2 15-384 thermal monocular

I got a new thermal monocular in yesterday. So far I like it. Between this and my PVS-14, I can see nearly as good in the dark as in the day. I tried the thermal out in the back yard last night, and had no idea I was standing 30 yards away from a doe until she lit up like a billboard under the thermal sensor.

Owning the night kinda increases your chances of surviving the SHTF even if you don't shoot them. For defense you almost have to have at least night capable game cameras just to know if you are being checked out. Neighbor took me coyote hunting and shot ones that I never picked up with a good scoped rifle and a lot of couching. His unit was pricy 10 years ago but he has new optics that are many times better and cheaper. Been a real revolution in that field in last 10 years or so. Going the rout of heat sigs, don't have to light up your position either.

 

@CaboWabo5150 So, which do you prefer the PVS-14 or the 15-384 Thermal? I would like to hear some more about the15-384 after you spend some more time with it. The pros and cons...
