Pretty sure it's a comet, just an unusual one not originating in our Solar System, and not an alien spacecraft.
While anything is possible, the math odds of the orbit happening by chance in this narrow of time frame are so high as to be hard to accept. To come into the solar system alone is high, then to orbit the sun and go past a couple planets is even higher. Lots of things to think about from a Sci Fi background..If aliens do exist, how long have they been around and what have they done to interact with our species? As records only go back about 8,000 years and there are a lot of interesting things in even that limited period. Presented more or less as a comedic article, but has potential to be a pivotal moment in our history. What if it is a space craft and since it is moving at a very slow fraction of light, indicates that Einstein was right. Do we attempt to duplicate their ship and send it off on a 2,000 year mission or more to see their planet? What if we now have proof that there aliens, but the communication delay in contacting them is in the thousands of years? Read a couple comments on it, but that was a good catch and well worth watching even if a little long in time and short in details. Kind of like a movie trailer and hoping to suck you in for the whole show
my guess would be that stuff like this has happened all along, we just now begin to have the ability to detect them.
I would be excited as hell if there was definite proof of extraterrestrial visitation. Avi Loeb has been on this alien thing since 2017 when the first confirmed interstellar object, 1I/Oumuamua traveled through the Solar System on a very interesting trajectory to observe our system, including Earth before it disappeared back into interstellar space. But all evidence pointed to Oumuamua, comet 2I/Borisov, and now 3I/ATLAS as natural in origin. No techno-signatures, radio signals, or anything we can interpret as artificial were detected. Unless these are some sort of "stealth" probes disguised as natural objects. So-called 'Bracewell Probes' lurking in our system possibly for millions of years and undetectable to our present technology have been theorized about, but I don't think that's the case here. I think Dr. Loeb is just being a grifter with this. But as Idahoser said, there have no doubt been many of these objects passing through, but we have just recently developed the means to detect them. 99 percent of the video on this subject are pure fantasy, just absolute hogwash and most are AI generated tripe. Ever since YouTube chased off actual content creators, it welcomed in all the Asian AI hacks who each have a dozen channels, all slave labor working for pennies every day, non-stop pushing AI generated garbage. Randall Carlson is pretty much the only place to find some real information.
Anton Petrov is another. Just gives the facts on hand with no ridiculous hype and speculation. And an actual person. Just like his greeting, "Hello, wonderful person." He is the anti-Avi.
