Incredibly stupid, Cal is clearly more difficult to get carry licenses, but Apple has the money to get quality trained security.
Getting untrained/marginally clods permits opens them up to being sued by ambulance chasing lawyers and writing big checks.

Apple exec allegedly offered Bay Area cop iPads for gun permits
The team charged with protecting Apple’s top brass didn’t used to carry firearms. But when CEO Tim Cook started getting serious threats in 2016, staff decided his security team should get guns and thus concealed carry permits.
Now, those permits — along with the 200 iPads a firm executive allegedly offered in exchange — are a fresh flashpoint in a yearslong bribery scandal.
On Friday, a tribunal of judges in California’s 6th District Court of Appeal reinstated a bribery charge for Thomas Moyer, Apple’s head of global security. Prosecutors say he illegally offered to give more than $50,000 worth of iPads to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office in exchange for a batch of concealed carry weapon permits for Apple’s executive security team.

Happens all the time they're just stupid enough to get caught.
The way you're supposed to do it give them say $10,000 worth of free shit out of the goodnesses of your heart, then a few months later send a security derp to get a permit. He gets a permit, the police contact apple and be like "thank you for the ipads if we could get more that would help out so so much" then they sign a contract where they practically give away the ipads. Then the security derps go there one by one get their permits over the next year. An it's totally not a bribe. It totally is but it's harder to prove. You give them $50,000 in ipads and then next week all your security derps have permits, yeah only Hillery Clinton is going to get away with that.
Racquets, extortion, bribery and money laundering take time. Moving too fast on these is what gets people caught.
I guess they figured since they're lefties the law wouldn't be applied to them and it almost wasn't.

The areas where people have a need to protect their families are the areas where it is hardest to get a CCW. If you get one, you still have mag capacity restrictions.
