We all had a few AR-15 uppers and barrels that needed to be completed so we met up in my garage and assembled 5 heavy 16" barrels and 1 XM177 with the long flash hider.
We also completed 2 lowers and changed 2 non-folding stocks to 6 position M-4 stocks along with a few other minor changes some of the guys wanted.
After we finished assembly the fun part off to the range, solid function except one of the 16" uppers was failing to lock up 50% of the time due to a slightly misaligned gas tube but I was able to use a portable vise on my truck to get it lined up and it functioned 100% after that.
The XM 177 is a bit of a waste as far as sacrificing 4 1/2 inches of barrel but it has that Viet Nam retro look one of the guys wanted.

I have one of those barrels. Hanging on my wall right now, just collecting dust. Looks cool, though.
